Years after her coronation, out of the blue, Twilight finds out that Luna just died of old age, and that Celestia is not much better off. Shocked, she starts asking questions. Pushed against the wall, Celestia reveals that the crown came not only with their powers, but also their immortality.

Feeling betrayed and used, Twilight gives Celestia a piece of her mind and breaks contact. But months later, with Celestia on her deathbed, Twilight reluctantly decides to visit her former mentor one last time.
