What Jinglemas Participants Need to do RIGHT NOW · 8:43pm Dec 22nd, 2019

- Thank you so much for your patience as we worked with site staff to understand our new Community Site and Collaboration rules.

Firstly, Nobody who participated in these events are in trouble. Let's start there. Let's take a deep breath and go forward from there. I consider that a big win for us.

Second. Jingleclop is back up. However, this is due to the inability to create Site Blogs for Mature content. this is the last Jingle event that will be posted this way

Third. I understand that this will be frustrating for everyone involved, but we need everyone who made a Jinglemas story to submit it on their OWN user page, and then forward their story (once its live to me. (FimficCollabs) as a PM on Fimfiction.

Fourth. In lieu of a huge story, we're going to get our own dedicated SITE POST where we will share ALL of your stories. I will be making the blog and updating it as often as I can without becoming a burden to the moderation team to ensure that everyone's story is on the blog post, even if submitted late. Even if it's for a breezie story.

I understand that this is quite a vicious last minute change, and I hope it hasn't soured anyone's opinion of our event. We're going to be working with the mods within the site rules to make all of our future events the biggest and best collab events on the site. We wouldn't be here without your help. And I can't thank you all enough for your work and patience.

SO WHAT DO WE DO NOW?

1. Post your story on your fimfic account.
2. When it's approved, send me a PM on Fimfic to your story.
3. At the bottom of your long description, please include a link to the jinglemas group, as well as a link to the user page of the person you wrote it for.
4. At some point within 24 hours, I will submit to the staff a blog post with all of the stories written for the event.

I'm sorry to be putting so much pressure on you guys at last minute. I know this isn't fun. But as we grow, these things are bound to happen. Thank you all so much, and Merry Jinglemas. I'm going to be online and as responsive as possible to field your questions and put any and all concerns at ease.

This is a logistical nightmare

what the hell happened

Jingleclop was posted, and then taken down about 30 minutes later due to the site rule that "users can't post stories by other users."

Okay, I see, enforcing an old rule previously on the books that was never enforced before, which would make works such as Aragon's "Mad, With Power" against site rules now, and my own Slice of Cheese's guest chapters would be compramat going forward.

Two days before Christmas

Why is the site administration so profoundly incompetent at any form of dealing with the userbase. Literally doing nothing at all would have been less harmful than doing something. Getting site posts for competitions and the like three years later than it really should have been was good, but the response to that to be to enforce them having a monopoly by banning collaborations?

One step forward and two steps back as always, and two days before Christmas.

I don't understand why you can't get permission to post an anthology of authors who wrote stories for a rather charitable reason. That doesn't make any sense to me.

When I return home in a few, I'll try to rush to put my story together for submission to Fimfiction proper. This isn't an ideal way to do it, though. All the stories will flood the site at once and almost none of them will be able to feature.

I have 100% faith the organizers are doing everything they can to make things work out. I'll look into what's going on in more detail when I return.

Wait, what the heck happened here? Things seemed to be all set in place.

Remember that one episode of The Simpsons where Bart got drunk on St. Patrick's Day

and Springfield overcompensated by enforcing an ancient prohibition statute that had technically been on the books for centuries

and it made nobody happy, cost the chief of police his job, and sparked a nascent bootlegging operation

remember that episode of the simpsons?

all we need is Robert Stack

Can we at least use a trebuchet this time instead of a catapult as a solution?
