On writing "Sweet as Honeydew" and why it will end this year. · 10:06pm Dec 14th, 2019
I know many of you greatly enjoyed Sweet as Honeydew, and this is what makes it hard to say this:
but I consider writing it a mistake.
While I had a couple of ideas for what Honeydew could be doing in Equestria, there was no plan for a story there, just "make one-shots for each of the mane 6 (minus Twilight) and maybe her family". I wasn't really sold on the idea, and I had told myself that I was going to move on from pony fanfiction after concluding "To be a Breezie". So why did I release a sequel anyway? I suppose I got drunk from the "fame". To Be a Breezie performed way beyond my expectations and was a blast to write, so I thought I could do a short sequel, right?
Well, it wasnt so short after all. Especially Applejacks chapters was very difficult. I'm often lacking in motivation, not just to write (that was always an issue) but also to plan (which is a first). BUT, I also sort of pride myself in that I do not leave something unfinished. So, I decided I will bring the story to an end soon. This is why I'm scrapping the Rainbow Dash chapter, too. Next up will be Rarity, followed by Pinkie Pie, so two more chapters in total. I want to give you both of them before the years end, so that I can have a fresh start in 2020.
PS: I do want you to know this, I dont just want to finish the story because of a guilty conscience or a completionist mindset, but also because I consider writing something that you lack the passion for a valuable experience that will come in handy eventually
That's fair. Not going to sit here and try to force you to keep going with an idea when you clearly don't want to. I respect your decision, and also your integrity to at least give it an ending before moving on.
Well best of luck
While it's sad to know it'll be over soon, you can't really be faulted for not wanting to spend a rather large amount of time on writing something you don't particularly want to write. I would have loved to see more about your version of breezies, but alas, it wasn't meant to be.
Are you going to move on from FiMFiction entirely, or just stopping Sweet as Honeydew? Either way, best of luck to you.

pony fanfiction will from then on be limited to one-shots, Two-shots at best, if at all. I'll still be here, but Sweet as Honeydew might very well be the last story from me you'll see on fimfiction
Best of luck to you in your future endeavours!
