Interview with Lucky Seven

“Alright, now tell me my dear friend, what inspired your username?
Response: My username has essentially been the same since 2001, actually. I got an Xbox on launch night with a copy of Halo, and needed a name. I settled on ‘Seven’, which became ‘Seven81493’ on Xbox Live. Then around 2016, I changed it to ‘Roselucky Seven’ with the free name change I still had. I figured that might be too on the nose for Fimfiction though, so ‘Lucky Seven’ it was.
“What drew you into Mlp?
Response: Honestly? One of my old Halo PC buddies kept telling me to watch it, and it eventually got to the point that I did just to shut him up. I ended up getting hooked once I watched the season 2 premiere, because I love John De Lancie’s work.
“Who is your favorite pony and why?
Response: As far as main ponies, Starlight Glimmer. I feel that the hate she got right after season 5 ended wasn’t entirely fair. She’s well-written, and really revitalized the show. Overall though, Roseluck. I love that flower pony so much I even got her cutie mark tattooed on me.
“Favorite episode and why?”
Response: After all these years, my favorite episode is still ‘Cutie Mark Chronicles’. Getting to find out the backstory of all six main characters was awesome. A close second would be ‘Twilight’s Kingdom: Part Two’. As a huge Dragon Ball Z fan, that episode was the absolute best kind of fan-service.
“What inspires you to write?”
Response: I draw most of my inspiration from real-life events. I feel like I can more realistically portray raw emotion if I’ve experienced it myself, and the writing helps as a coping device as well.
“Give us the background of the author! Tell us all about you. Well in a short summary.
Response: Well, when I was younger, I played Halo 2 competitively, placing top of my state in Florida during a regional. Nowadays, I live in Arkansas and work for a large retailer’s call center. I work from home, so I don’t get out a lot, but my wife definitely enjoys being able to see me all the time, haha.
“Is there anything else you'd like to say?
Response: Always believe in yourself. Pretty much nobody likes what they write, it’s part of being an artist, but as long as you strive to improve yourself, it will show in your work. Hope you all have a great day :)
