    Droppin' By

Hello, I was in the neighborhood and had just realized that my last blog post was a bit of a downer, given that it was around the time of my Grandma's passing and funeral. I think I oughta leave you folks with something a bit more upbeat or at least something neutral.

    And Now, A Newsletter

Huh, back in July I said I oughta talk more around here. It's now the day after Christmas and I have not, in fact, talked more around here.

So, I'll give you the rundown on what I've been up to since then. Warning, it gets a little long in talking about last summer's vacation and about a new fixation I have.

And Now, For Sandwich Family Thoughts · 12:57am Oct 14th, 2019

Involves finale spoilers of the kind that you'd expect me to talk about, and a bunch of crazy thoughts now bursting out of my head. I'll give my thoughts on the other aspects of the finale later, I just need to get this out of my system.

Buckle up, everyone.

*deep breath*

HOLY FLIPPIN' COW, IT'S CANON, IT'S CANON, CHEESEPIE IS CANON, I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT AFTER HAVING TO ENDURE SOME SHIP SINKINGS I GET TO WITNESS MY BIGGEST SHIP SAILING WITH THE BLESSING OF THE SHOW STAFF!!!!!!

Am I... dreaming this? Good golly gosh, this is way too good to be real.
I never thought that this ship--or any Mane Six ship for that matter--would be explicitly confirmed.
I would have loved a little more buildup, but what can you do. At least I could try to fill the void with fan fiction.

Not gonna lie, I keep thinking of this one obnoxious anti-CheesePie dude from way back when (dunno if they're still around but I'm not even going to bother checking) who among their frequent whinings about the ship had once made a taunt about how CheesePie was never going to be canon because Cheese was voiced by a celebrity and was not likely to come back. I rolled my eyes, because what fan really expects their ship to become canon, we just ship it because it's fun, cute, and we think they have good chemistry, like geez, calm down dude.

But Cheese came back, the ship is canon, and I can't help but think of that taunt and laugh.

Still, a moment of silence for the other Pinkie and Cheese ships that were sunk thanks to this finale.

....

Okay, I'm gonna move along now.

I can't believe those two just went and had a kid behind my back. HOW DARE.

Okay, but in all seriousness, I am going to add Li'l Cheese to my CheesePie family (good luck convincing me to get rid of the others, because I've had Pizza and Fudge just about as long as I had Tommy, and my 'verse just doesn't feel right without them and their siblings; plus, I don't see Cheese and Pinkie stopping at one). I mean, come on, she's so cute! I do kind of dislike her name, because it reeks of uncreativity, so I'm going to imagine that it's a nickname in place of a silly mouthful of a name.

And hey, with everyone looking kind of old and Pound and Pumpkin Cake being all grown up, I think I have some room to stick my six fanfoals in the family with little trouble and just make Li'l Cheese the baby of the family.

I'm just gonna say that the others weren't around (especially the older ones who could look after their baby sister while Mom's away and Dad's presumably busy) because an adult Pizza and Fudge were busy with their jobs, a teenage Rocky was on a rock trip with Aunt Maud and a couple cousins, Berry was doing magic stuff, C.C. was in flight school, and Sugar had just started an apprenticeship with a local techno buff.

I headcanon that Li'l Cheese has a baking talent (I know that cutie mark's supposed to be a "cheese pie" (haha), but I'll make a legit talent out of it).

I am a little sad that the dozen grandchildren that Hay Burger and Mozzarella are missing out on is now a "baker's dozen", thanks to the show suddenly making a canon CheesePie kid. Aw, I liked having the Sandwich Bros each having the same number of kids, but I guess it's not a necessity, it's not like I can come up with another Flormato kid that's unique from his/her siblings and cousins in both design and personality... I'd have to be inspired someh--

Oh, no you don't! Just because the Flormato family has a plant theme doesn't mean you can give me ideas! For goodness' sake, your petal-y hair is purple, and I don't see much purple in either Tomato's or Flora's bloodlines! Not to mention you're a villain, it'd be kind of awkward considering the eldest of that family grows up to be a cop. You think you can waltz right up, give me a cute face, and expect me to experience the urge to model a pony after you?

...well, crud, I am getting an idea now. But the kid's a brunet, not a villain, and he's not gonna have the same name as you.

Well, could be worse. I could have suddenly decided to strike Tommy and Flora with the 'twin curse' that runs through the Sandwich Bros' mother's side of the family. Aaaaaand I just realized how tempting it is to actually do that.

I have entertained the idea that Cheese, with his salary from the gag factory, could have helped pay college fees for Tomato when any financial aid he's got isn't quite enough, and the latter is running himself ragged trying to cover the rest. Tommy suffers a little wounded pride from not being able to handle it himself after cutting ties with their parents, but Cheese is not going to let him suffer more than necessary.

But, I don't know, Tomato does have financial aid (that he's really lucky to have gotten considering those incidents where he's been caffeinated and scared the crap out of ponies), and a stubborn work ethic, so I don't know how it really all works. But, hey, something to chew on.

And that's enough from me, I got all the extreme happiness from canon CheesePie out of my system... okay, not all of it, I'll just express it differently.
So... I'll just gather my thoughts on everything else from the finale, and I'll talk about that later.

Hey, a Rainbow Dash ship sailed, too. Not the one you liked though.

I was also really excited. Plus I just really love older Pinkie's hairdo! Kind of Bride of Frankenstein.

Haha, I had a feeling you'd have some words to say about that moment in the final episode.

You're right. Li'l Cheese is a bit of a dumb name. It's like naming your kid "Me 2.0". Though I must admit, I thought you would just ignore her existence. I'm a little surprised you're making her Tommyverse official--not that I'm complaining, she's very cute! :pinkiehappy:

My plan is to call Li'l Cheese "Mascarpone Quiche." And possibly an incongruous middle name on the order of "Diane." Maybe some obscure mineral with six syllables. Aunts Limestone and Maud insisted.
