The Voice in the Water

Listen to the crashing of the waves, the flow of a stream, the roar of a waterfall, or the patter of the rain.

    I should have known better

New indie animated series by GLITCH. Trailer here:

Considering that it's GLITCH, I'm surprised that I'm surprised by what was in that, but here we are. Hopefully its as good as Muder Drones and Digital Circus (which, while not the greatest things ever, are still solid compared to the stuff coming out of Hollywierd).

First Natuili spotted by EV Nautilus

Watch as deep sea researchers nerd out over externally shelled cephalopods! (I get that excited when I run into rare or cool plants, so I can pretty reasonably say that kind of reaction isn't scripted).

    Just some random gamer ramblings

So, I was beating my head against a wall in Lies of P, and got to thinking: what would I want if I made Splintered Sky into a game. Obviously, there's a lot of different routes it could go, but something that really stuck with me was "wouldn't it be interesting to try to make an EVE style game out of the setting." So, I got to thinking "how could I make something like that and make it

    Monster Hunter Wilds

Sooooo, the MH Wilds beta is going on. And I've been playing it. And I'm afraid that if I buy the game, its going to be the only thing I play for a long time. Just like what happened when I picked up MH World. Yes, it's that good.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to make myself do something else besides pummel balahara.

    Versus (by One)

So, something that I have generally come to loath in contemporary storytelling is the very obnoxious trope of "sUbvOOrtinG tHi Aubiense exPertaCHuns dur hur hur I aRe seww cLEBbER" ["clever author" takes another drink of lead paint]. There's a single author that I've read that actually makes it work, and that's One, the creator of One Punch Man and Mob Psycho 100.

Floral scents head canon. · 5:26am Oct 9th, 2019

With how often Twilight is described as smelling like lavender in fan fiction, I've developed a bit of head-cannon that all Equestrians (pony or human) have natural, vaguely floral aroma. And that the "love juice" of females have a flavor associated with this scent.

Characters I have this h.c. for and their associated floral scents and tastes:
Princess Twilight Sparkle - Black Sage / Black Sage nectar
Human Twilight Sparkle - Purple pitcher sage / Purple pitcher sage nectar
Sunset Shimmer - peach blossoms / Gold dust peaches
Pinkie Pie - Roses / Rose hips
Fluttershy - Cherry blossoms / Rainier cherries
Applejack - Apple blossoms / Blondee apples
Rainbow Dash - Chicory / Chicory blossoms
Rarity - Mangosteen fruit
Adagio Dazzle - Nasturtium
Sonata Dusk - Borage flowers
Aria Blaze - Mission Fig

Huh. Weird but neat concept. And it does make sense if you extend the whole "lavender unicorn is lavender-scented" thing to its logical conclusion. Though associating Rarity with mangosteen makes me think of the Pokémon Tsareena, a.k.a. the mangosteen dominatrix. (Seriously, its previous form evolves when it learns Stomp.) Not sure if that's a coincidence or exactly what you were going for.

Well, re: Rarity, it's her color scheme (purple and snowy white, like a mangosteen), and, y'know, how exotic, rare and valuable the fruit is. Where I live, on the rare occasion that any of the markets have fresh mangosteen, it goes for ca. $25 / lb.

If that's not Rarity, I don't know what is.

And I'm sure Rares would be a good dom. I can easily imagine her stepping on someone if they asked nicely (or begged, depending on the situation).
