The God Squad Quickie: The Next Generation

"Package for you Sunny!" Hitch said, pushing in a large wooden crate.

"What the hay is it?" Sunny asked, tapping on the box.

"Not sure... there is a note though." Hitch opened it open. "Huh. It says, 'Congrats on being an Alicorn, he's your problem now, Signed Twi'. Who is Twi-"

    New comedy one shot

Still working out the finer details but I might be posting a new comedy one-shot sometime this weekend. I don't want to say too much so I'll just leave the title and the 1 sentence summary:

    Princess Twilight Blew a Walrus
"Yes, you did read that right"

Sunset and Tydal in the EG Universe

So, as established in Book 2 a Human Sunset still exists. And apparently when a being from the EG universe has an Equestrian take over their body... they remember everything.

Meaning Dean Tydal, already not to most stable individual when it comes to protecting those he cares for... now has a War God's memories in his head.

Concerning Other Races: Looking for Suggestions for World Building · 12:14am Aug 23rd, 2019

So as I have made clear The God Squad Season 3 is all going to be about world building. Traveling to new lands and countries, unexplored parts of Equestria and beyond, and create new an amazing worlds for the Squad to explore.

As such, I am looking for suggests of what strange, mythical, interesting creatures you'd love to see me create cultures for.

So far I have two cultures I've created: the Capricorns (duh) and the less explored Perytons. But I would love to get other ideas of species who could have their own kingdoms.

So if you have a suggestion, leave it here.

Kelpies or Selkies.

Kul'as and the breed of chaos he brings as a demon/Draconequis hybrid with connections to other hims like a network compared to how Discord and Cosmos differ. and Maybe Cosmos being an anomaly draconequis.

Can't go wrong with the generic fish/cat/bird furries from the movie. That or Ratfolk. always love me some ratfolk.

I’d actually like to hear more about the less talked about races, like the goats, cows, buffalo, and donkeys. All other races have their own nation, special brand of magic, etc. Yet, although they can talk like the others, they all just seem either plain in comparison or grossly overlooked. I’d be interested to see what you could do with them.

Also, I’d like to hear more about the deer races. We met them briefly in God Squad season 1, but I’d like to revisit them. Especially if you use this for inspiration. (Maybe you could even mention about different deer nations, like King Aspen’s in the Everfree.)

Finally, I’d be interested to hear about the less talked about creatures from the comics, like the jackals and (strangely familiar) cats from Ancient Anugypt. I’m sure Discord would have plenty to say about that.

Re: Kelpies. Let's just say that the Ducktales episode where Twilight and Fluttershy's voice actors voiced Kelpies is one of my favorite episodes and I already have plans to include Kelpies somehow.

And with Selkies that is a real good pick! Wouldn't go the human route and would have to consider changing things up to avoid the hippogriff/seapony route but something to consider.

Yeah, looking more for a species than one figure. Thanks though

Ratfolk would be fun to do as a subversion... make people think they are these nasty ceatures when they are actually highly cultured underground dwellers... great burrowers and artists. Hmmm... maybe take the best aspects of elves and dwarves...

Donkeys would be interesting to explore.

As for buffalo I actually have a theory that Hasbro wanted to do much more with them BUT feared getting into Native American stereotypes so they created the yaks to replace them

As for deer I don't remember mentioning them in The God Squad. I know I dealt with them in Crisis briefly, that Shining of Twicora's world studied with the deer and they were noble and mystical guardans of the forest... to continue with the LOTRs idea I had with ratfolk the deer as I saw them were like Rangers... they lived in secret cities and loved to learn the mystical arts of other races and adapt them to fit their own styles.

Just realize something else/ That Chimera Apple Bloom ran into seemed pretty intelligent for the most part, maybe something with them finding a village of chimeras of something? I'd imagine with three heads on each body debates could become very interesting.

5110218
pls don't elf them. literally no one likes elves. They usually go the gnome/goblin route of being the tinkery/alchemically-gifted race.

5110220

With creatures like the chimera I have always felt they were creatures like the bugbear that were merged beings but as they grew older became more inteligent. Would be something interesting to explore but I don't see an entire race of them. As a villain OR as a reformed villain? Possible. In fact it would be interesting to have a creature like the chimera or another fused beast be the leader of a species' town...

...hmmm. An idea that would fit the insanity of this story....yes, that might work...*smirks*

5110222

See, you just hit it right on the head. "Everyone always does _____". Why would I want to do what EVERYONE does? If everyone does something... that is boring. Capricorns aren't spartan warriors... I made them Equestria's spartans. Other people's ideas for perytons (see the link about deer below your comment) make them cute. I made them shaggy russian warriors.

People hear the ratfolk and see them as ugly and such. Why not make them cunning and graceful, a mix of elf and dwarf?

If I am going to do something it is going to be different and memorable. So that people are shocked I did it... and then see how it so well fits together that they wonder why no one did it before.

How about rakshasas? They could be cunning and ruthless corporatists like Shere Khan's depiction in Tale Spin.

...fair enough.

seriously though, f*** elves.
