Plug to End All Plugs · 7:39am Aug 7th, 2019

(Boy, does that conjure some strange mental images . . . .)

"Plugs" meaning "self-promotion", don't worry. I'm just popping briefly back into the world of fimfic blogs to announce to anyone who still sees these that my personal passion project, The Minoan Crisis, just published its first new chapter in three years(!). The details of why I'm returning to pick up what was, admittedly, a dead fic are explored in detail in the chapter's author notes, but I'll touch on them a bit here, and we'll give some context to that post title.

I'm finishing Crisis because it's a very personal story for me, and I realized that I need to write it, even if no one else pays it any more attention than it takes to spit on it. So since I'm no longer writing for the attention, I'm not going to be putting as much effort into self-promotion as I've been known to do in the past---after tonight. I figured I'd at least make sure people who might be interested in picking up what I'm laying down have the opportunity to do so. (So this might be the last plug I do for Crisis---hence the title.)

I don't know when or how often, but Crisis updates will keep coming, if only because I need to prove to myself that I'm capable of keeping a promise like that. And whatever your thoughts on the story so far, you can probably expect it to get better as we go. This latest chapter is a real doozie, if I may say so myself. And the plot is really only starting to move, which is probably why it never got any attention as it was.

So check it out if you feel so inclined. The link's up above. It's only about 50k words long right now, which isn't all that big, and the new chapter is less than 6k. And who knows? Maybe if I make good time on finishing Crisis, I'll finish the trilogy, after all! (The Eyrian Scandal and The Canterlot Siege as books 2 and 3, btw.)

. . . For the sake of my future mental state, though, if you do read this or the new chapter, maybe leave some comment so I'm not left to always wonder if it's all a lie.

P.S.--- I hope you all had fun at Bronycon. Your blogs make me sad I didn't get to go.

It's okay, I didn't get to go to Bronycon either. Too much stuff to do, not quite enough dough lying around...

If it makes you feel any better, I shouted "It's back!" when I saw The Minoan Crisis in the feature box just now. Huh. It's been almost exactly a year since your last blogpost.

Well, I'm looking forward to seeing more of you around on this site. We've each got our own trilogies to work on, too.

I'll try to remember to slip you into my prayers a little, in the meantime. Can't hurt, right?
