"In Our Loving Memory": First Draft Done · 9:00am Jul 31st, 2019

It took a long time, but here we are. The first draft of the entire short medium story, In Our Loving Memory which is the sequel to A Magic Turn of Events, is now done. I apologize for taking so long just to get to this stage.

So what's next?

  • The next part would be three editing passes: the first two to cover the rest of the first draft I haven't covered yet, and then the third to cover the story as a whole.
  • After that would be a break from working on Memory (a few days to a full week depending on how I feel about it) to give myself as much of an outsider's perspective as possible—in the meantime, I'd be working on Paint.net-ing some story covers up for a few of my older stories and doing a bit of preliminary outlining on A War's sequel.
  • Once the break is over, I'll start another editing pass for Memory as a whole.
  • After that would be a mandatory quick spelling/grammar check with LanguageTool, and then, depending on availability, I might bring someone over to at least pre-read it.
  • Only after all of the above, would I then publish. Instead of doing it all at once, however, I'll do it chapter-by-chapter (since I don't think it'd be viable to have one 25k chapter in there), perhaps three or four days apart (excepting Sundays).

Once again, I apologize for taking so long just to get the story running and I'll take the blame for being lazy and undisciplined at times, but at the same time, I want to make this good. The way things are going, you may be surprised with what you'll find in Memory.

That's it for now. I hope you have a good day ahead of 'ya!
