So here we are, finally half way through this story. Lets look at some things, shall we?

Firstly, I'd like to link a side story. It's mature, so if you're squeemish about that sorta thing, then don't click. It is canon to the story, but something I felt needed to be seperate. Check it out here.

Sunny, Snakeskin, and myself had some debates on Celestia and Luna's characteristics. Myself, I don't always keep the same things for each of my stories. I like to change things up, so this Celestia and Luna might not be the same as other stories of mine.

Believe it or not, people do give horses tatoos! They will typically ink the inner, upper lips of a horse for specific purposes, like identifying race horses and ownership. Neat stuff, and something I don't really see ponies in Equestria doing, but who knows.

Giving all the townsponies... oh I'm sorry, settlement ponies, bad pasts was something I always intended, but I didn't really know what I wanted them to all have done. At first I'd thought about something involving everypony, but eventually decided they'd just all done things in their past non related to each other. Although, Thomas did do something that brought everypony together, but that's spoilers for the future so I won't go into that yet.

The idea that even Celestia needed special forms and permissions to see classified documents was something I read in another fic years ago. I can't remember what it was, but I loved the idea so I used it too.

As I'm typing this, we lost power, so I'm using my phone's hotspot with my tablet. It's hot, miserable, and our generator broke months ago, and it's an expensive fix. I got dirty socks tied around my head for a sweatband, like what we do up at camp on ugly days. Blurg.

I have no idea why, but I love the idea that Luna teases Celestia constantly for her height, and the fact she's got so many royal guards everywhere, most white like her. I mean, why not have a little fun here and there?

Cribbing is a weird thing. Having three horses in my back yard, it's funny to see the weird things they do. One of them tries this once in a while, on wood. It's bad behavior, and you try to stop them from doing it. That being said, I like the idea of not being stomped to death by an animal the size of a car but with a brain, so I let their owner take care of that.
I just pet them. The gelding doesn't like me, and usually bites.

I don't think any carpenter in their right mind would actually build flaws into their work. Thankfully, Thomas is not in any right mind, so he did it anyway. That being said, I have stuff with personality too. Not just my furniture, either. Appliances, like my vacuum cleaner that pops popcorn when you suck up seeds. If I listed everything here, we'd never end. You guys got anything quirky you own?
Also, is it weird to have two desks? Cause I do. One for mail and paperwork, then one for when I'm writing.

Sunny had some issues with Luna's dialogue at times. I tried for a blend of olden whatever with modern. I think it's bad. I'm bad at olden talk, but at the same time, I think it works? I'll let you guys be the judge of that.

I don't know about adding brandy to tea, but coffee I've done enough that it doesn't bother me. Amrarillo is really good, too.

Welp, that's that! I hope the next chapter doesn't take too long. Oh, and one last thing, from the responses I got, Dibs will be the next story that I'm prioritizing to get done! Thanks everyone, and see ya at Trotcon and/or Bronycon!
I think having two desks for those separate purposes makes all the sense in the world.

As someone who's worked in a government office for 13 years, I can comfortably say that you hit the nail right on the head. It doesn't matter what your rank is in a bureaucracy, you ain't gettin' nothin' without the right forms... and god help you if there're any typos.
iisaw did it, and had an interesting in-story reason. Seems he used the lower lip, though.
