Not gonna spoil anything, but Pinkie Pie's Persona is so far my favorite. I did something special with her awakening, so I can't wait to see how many people catch the reference.

I caved and picked up P5 while it was on sale. I figure it was better then waiting for Royal to drop next year, or for a Switch release to appear out of the blue.
I just beat the first Palace, and it did give me an idea on one thing you mentioned in REM. It may seem strange that you get paid for beating Shadows, but I think I can explain it.
The generic shadows are born from the collective thoughts and desires of people, so they carry with them the stresses, worries, and wants, among other things that drift through our heads. I'm pretty sure that most of us wish for just a bit more money from time to time. These thoughts carry over to the Shadows you beat, and, in Joker's case, can physically carry out into the real world to use. It's essentially the same idea as the Palace treasure manifesting, just on a smaller scale, and spread out across the entire collective unconscious.

I'm currently playing through Persona 3, 4, and 5 again to see just how they progress over time, and see if that changes my outlook of the story at all.

Oh, I also picked up Q2. The first boss is pretty tough. He's a tank that has no elemental weaknesses, plus can deliver a single strike that can KO most party members easily.
