My first ever Splatfest has come and gone...
I was on Team Tortoise, so I'm feeling the sting of being on the losing side of my first ever Splatfest, but I did my best, I had fun, so I have no regrets. Congratulations to Team Hare!
For Splatfest, since the objective is just inking territory with reckless abandon, I went with a Splat Roller the entire way through because it's the quickest, most efficient way to spread your ink everywhere. Sure, it leaves you open to snipers, you can't really protect yourself from Dualies and such, etc. but that's okay because the run speed and ink spread more than make up for the ridiculous number of respawns you rack up!
(That having been said, the second Splatfest was over I went back to my trusty Splattershot. >.>)
So anyway, not to do the sour grapes thing, but I think the reason Team Hare pulled ahead and won is because literally ALL the Japanese players were Team Hare. It got ridiculous at times, seeing Team Hare squads of nothing but hiragana names. Japanese gamers can be a little scary...
So anyway, yeah, this was a fun event in a game that's rapidly becoming one of my favorites of all time. I'm eagerly looking forward to my next Splatfest!

Hey, at least the people on both sides are actually trying to win, right? I remember hearing that in the Splatfests of Splatoon 1, people would intentionally join the Team they want to lose, and just do nothing during the matches, with hopes of intentionally losing.
I was on team hare. I figured this was coming after Marina had 2/3 popularity last splatfest. I mostly ran the N-Zap 83, the one with sprinkler and ink storm.
