Ocellus is being rather insensitive. True, it would be nice to remember the tree... but the way he's going off about it-- shoving all those falsehoods and those perky displays. That's not the way to do it.
That would be enforcing painful memories of what you had but now you lost and will never get back or replace. Nobody wants memories like that (That's why I hate memories... even good ones. They do me more harm than help.)

I'm pretty sure it's meant to be an all-species-inclusive variation of the term "everypony". But for all I know, you hate that one too, so whatever. Personally, it doesn't bother me, but I can understand why it might get on some people's nerves.

I'm willing to bet incidents like the ones you're describing were the reason the writers coined the term "everycreature" when Season 8 started. Heck, in a lot of fanfictions on this site before and afterwards, you'll see similar terms for other creatures (i.e. everyling, everygriff, etc.). Terms like those have entered the show and its fandom's terminology, and it's probably too late in the game for the writers to really do something about it. In the end, if you're not a fan of the term, all you can really do is grit your teeth and roll with it.
