    The Moral Event Horizon.

Gonna discuss another trope today in relation to the Quiververse. In this case, it's the Moral Event Horizon. In simple terms, this is the point a character passes that forever marks them as EVIL and potentially irredeemable. TVTropes itself lists a few examples from FiM, and I won't repeat them here...though I will say that

    It never ends. It just...never...ends...

So work decided to throw another curve ball at me. My supervisor has been transferred to another store. That means that I've had six supervisors in my department across six years, and it could take weeks, maybe even months, for us to get a new one. Which means I'm going to continue to be worked to death.

    So, I'm writing again.

It's not much, but I got some writing done today. Now, be warned, it's going to be a very long time before I do anything related to the Quiververse again, but I'm hoping that time frame will be measured in months rather than a year.

Still, at least I'm making some progress.

    A question to my readers.

When I started serious work on the Quiververse, I made myself a promise. That promise was thus, to do the best I can to use whatever characters appear in a story to the best of my ability. I like to think I've done that, as various canon characters are reasonably consistent with their portrayals in the show (and arguably are undergoing development, though that's up to the reader), and my OCs have

    Been a little bit.

So yeah, it's been a while. I guess I get to share a little news.

First off, I'm making a little progress on finding a new place. I don't know if I've mentioned this, but I'm pre-approved for a mortgage, and now I'm talking to realtors. If I'm lucky, by the end of this summer, I'll have found a place and moved into it.

Chapter Seven for Many Happy Reunions is going to reference an episode from Season Five, and effectively render it non-canon to the Quiververse. Now before anyone starts making wild guesses or speculations...

One - Bloom and Gloom is already unlikely to happen at this point.

Two - Amending Fences has already happened within the events of the Quiververse.

Three - Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep? has been prevented at this point.

Four - Elements of Crusaders of the Lost Mark have already been incorporated into the storyline.

So yeah, that's four out the window already.

Hmm... there's a couple to pick from here. I remember the reference to Slice of Life and how the error on the wedding invitations was caught in this story... XD

But what other episode would be referenced and made non-canon? I honestly don't know, but I'm stoked to find out!

Well, once I get closer to finishing Chapter Seven, I'll announce a release date. Beyond it being in May, I can't give you anything specific.

Understood. And that's perfectly fine by me. ^_^

Two - Amending Fences has already happened within the events of the Quiververse.

(Double-checks) Ah... offscreen between the events of "Reflections: Quiververse Edition" and "The Last of the Elements", I take it? 'Cause "Reflections" is the earliest Moondancer is mentioned. (With the most recent being in "A Mad Pony in a Box". And not at all between those two stories, at least by name.)

(Double-checks again; finds official timeline on tropes page) And, confirmed what I thought.

Until next time...

Yep. I figured that Twilight might be reflecting a bit on the road not taken a lot, and that would get her to thinking back to her friends in Canterlot, so why not have that episode's events happen sooner?

I'm certainly not complaining - "Amending Fences" is one of my favorite episodes, and Moondancer one of my favorite characters. I just wasn't sure on the timing, since I didn't remember it at first.

Until next time...
