A question to my readers. · 2:41am May 6th
When I started serious work on the Quiververse, I made myself a promise. That promise was thus, to do the best I can to use whatever characters appear in a story to the best of my ability. I like to think I've done that, as various canon characters are reasonably consistent with their portrayals in the show (and arguably are undergoing development, though that's up to the reader), and my OCs have received similar treatment. I also like to think that I've at least tried to tap into their potential - Bon-Bon's canon status as a secret agent, Lyra's fanon fascination with humans and Doctor Whooves' fanon connection to the protagonist of Doctor Who, for instance, gave me plenty of material to work with, and I'm pretty happy with that.
But a part of me wonders if I've missed an opportunity here and there. So here I am, putting this question to the readers. Do you think I've missed something? Do you think I could do more with, say, Octavia? Snips and Snails? Bulk Biceps? Or are you fine with what I've done?
I personally don't see a problem on this front. You already gave development to more characters than the main show (and deeper/better-executed development for some already-prominent but poorly-developed characters, like Diamond Tiara), and going for even more breadth would probably mean sacrificing depth, when the latter is more important imo.

Quite well said. I think you are doing a really good job overall - ESPECIALLY on the characterizations.
I think you're doing quite well already.
I agree FinalLegendZero: you're breathing new life into preexisting characters, making them much more developed and real with your writing than the show pulled off. Seriously, you're a talented writer in both plot and characters

Wow. Thank you all for the vote of confidence!
Well... I know I'm answering the question fairly late, but for what it's worth, off the top of my head, I think you're doing more than well enough. You give time to more character than the show, and more often than not you make better use of the time you give them - FinalLegendZero's example of Diamond Tiara is the first that comes to mind, but I'd also add Silver Spoon and Filthy Rich and both Flash Sentries and Principal Celestia and Vice-Principal Luna to name a few.
I won't say it wouldn't be nice to see more of other characters, but off the top of my head, I can't think of any whose absence felt glaring in any form. And even if I did, as FinalLegendZero said, trying to put too many eggs in the same basket risks a few slipping out and breaking. You're the writer, you have full right to decide which characters to give time to and how much time to give them.
And at the end of the day, I think you've been doing more than well enough on this front, as well as in your portrayals of the characters in general. :)

Thank you. Late or no, I appreciate you chipping in.
