To other Authors who follow me -- Ever wanted to tell a reader who leaves a downvote and an unhelpful comment to go fuck himself but held back to preserve whatever reputation you have? That happened to me this morning. Anyway, new Annie chapter tomorrow.

Ugh, that sucks.
New Annie is good news, though! Annie has thus far been slow, weird, and moody--but in a way that I'm very much enjoying. It's definitely a "builder," not a "banger," if I'm getting my verbiage right. But not every story needs to come out with (metaphorical) guns blazing; I think there's ample room for things that are just well-done, hooky, and atmospheric. Some stories try to do that, but I think Annie succeeds, and it deserves recognition for that.
I still also love Annie's motivation for her quest.
You have no fucking idea. Every person who's left a downvote I've either wanted to ask "WHY" or tell them to fuck themselves, usually just "WHY."

That was actually a big part of the reason I wrote it -- I wanted to focus more on world-building and just see how characters would react in it. I did the same thing with my longest single-chapter story, AMDQ. That story is just as much about the atmosphere of downtown EQG-ville as it is about Sunset's quest to buy a computer. For both stories, I did a lot of research into random little things, like the construction of Roman highways, or the look of traditional mileposts.
So do I. I wish I could say more. You'll find out.

It's not every time a downvoter makes themselves known. Usually they're cowards. But simply commenting "Nope" on my story and leaving a thumbs-down is supremely unhelpful. Still not as infuriating as the fuck who bitched at me for writing Burritoverse stories beyond the first -- he refused to read the one he commented on. If you actually read my comments, you'll see I do my level best to not explode and rip him a new one.
