I’m not caught up on mlp, not even close to the timeline your story is at, I don’t believe. Since this is a fanfiction though, accuracy from your fics to the show probably isn’t something too important if you just need some cutesy ideas.

Nah, nothing like timeline accuracy counts here. I'm just trying to figure out if I want to do a sequel Idea I had in mind. I've started (Just because I have started it doesn't mean I'll post it, mind you) a sequel where Ocellus finds out about Smolder and Silverstream and kind of becomes a babysitter. I'm seriously debating on if I want to eventually post it, because on the one hand It's coming along great, but on the other, I'd love for it to be just Silverstream and Smolder. So I need a third party opinion to help me decide to make it a part of my head canon. Thoughts?

I suppose it would be interesting to add someone to the story. If you did this then the relationship smolder and silverstream have could be expanded on.
I suppose if you wanted to, you could make it an alternate reality. Like, a sort of “what if” situation but it’s not cannon to your story (unless you want it to be).
I would personally wait at least another story or two before even considering adding another character into their fun so smolder and silverstream’s bond can grow closer. I feel like smolder has just barely opened up from her shell and adding someone too quickly could make her feel uncomfortable. Then again, I don’t know what your story will entail so maybe it would work.
I’d suggest at least finishing the story up that you’re writing and consider other adorable situations that smolder and silverstream could get into.

No, it's totally fine! Their bond would still develop either way, because that will not be the last you see of those two. There are likely many fun times ahead for them, with or without Ocellus. But I guess I figure that if Ocellus knows and Silverstream and Smolder are having time, she could help divert the rest of their friends from bothering them and give them more time to bond. Also, this story would take place months later, so there would be time for the bond to deepen even more.

Well if that’s the case then I suppose it would be a neat idea to add ocellus, plus oceluss doesn’t need to be in every future story if you add her to this one. This experience would probably make smolder feel safer knowing that not one but two friends supported her.
