The Start of Something Good · 10:45pm Feb 21st, 2019
Every journey begins with the first step. This was the start of something good.
For the past week, many of you reading this blog may have been attracted by the enticing premise of Fleetfoot getting the attention she deserves, because she's a beautiful pony and needs all the love she can get. I won't deny it's been fun to read and watch the popularity explode for a time, but in case I've acidentally misled anyone, I think two things bear repeating:
For the most part, this is not a dedicated clopfic. There will be clop eventually, but at a much later stage than what I'm sure many people here are used to. I like to take my time with relationships, and especially in this case, where sensual, consensual heart-boner inducing sex is concerned.
Since we already know Philip and Fleetfoot get together in the end, there's no use playing up the "will they won't they" arc. What's happening instead is that we're being introduced to the "morning we don't talk about", flashbacking to how it all began, working our way through history and their budding relationship, up to the second half of that morning. From there, we'll follow how they decide to give each other another chance, romantic tangents abound, and then the clop happens.
That's not for everyone's liking, I know, but consider this more a romantic drama that happens to have clop in it. Again, I'm sorry if I've misled anyone, but that's what A Lapse of Reason is about.
- I haven't been writing a chapter a day; I've been posting a chapter a day. Now the pre-written horsewords have dried up, it's all on my own time from here on out, and with university starting next week, and Mum pressuring me to find a job as well, my time on writing will be strained. It's a sad reality most of us have to face, that there's a life beyond getting horsefamous, but in the words of Ned Kelly, "such is life".
So, I'm sorry there won't be a chapter posted today, but I have other projects on top of this one, and the world outside the writing desk is catching up to me. I'll try to do what I can, but time will be tight in the months to come. Let's just hope I'm super motivated, and not caught up in any more long-winded Discord chats.
Some...BODY once told me the world is gonna roll me,

I've greatly enjoyed how much we've gotten through this so far, and happy to see another story to more actual showing of how everything comes together before getting to the clop. I eagerly await the next chapter, but I know how it is when having school and work coming to block you from something you enjoy doing.
Sweet. I'm actually a sucker for a good backstory, so learning how Phillip and fleetfoot came to be is gonna be nice. Don't worry about clop as far as I'm concerned, a lot of the time I'll just skim it or even skip it entirely if there's a ton of it.
Obviously, when I saw the tags I assumed it would be another up and comer, clopfic fuckfest. But this story has really impressed me.
I read through your previous works this week after (embarrassingly) thinking that this was going to be another hip-to-be-square feature box bait. And Christ, was I wrong.
This story and it's predecessor are both beautifully painted, and in my opinion can be compared to some of the more prolific authors on the site. There is absolutely no rush from avid readers for sake of quality, I've seen the comments from many stories.
I definitely applaud this, and have to say thank you
Take the time you need, you’re still pledging to be active, and have a life! Do what you need to do, horse words come second! Stay good my guy!
But I want some heart wrenching romance so don’t do me dirty
