If anyone still remembers/cares after all these years, Island in the Sea of Equus is officially canceled. I finally bit the bullet and while it's difficult to admit, I just don't see myself coming back to this idea ever even if I'm letting down a lot of people by declaring that. A lot has changed since 2014.
If it's any consolation, I still got some notes saved and even a revised partially completed world map so if anyone's got questions or whatever I'll answer them.
Thank you all for the support and praise over the years, I'm sorry to be letting you all down with this news.

I've never been much of a writer in all honesty, the story was my first real attempt and even then it needed like three pre-readers just to be passable.

Damn I like isot’s but perhaps it’s better perhaps you cancel it so you can move on to bigger and better things. After all your life always comes first and foremost. So stay safe and stay happy.

God, it was such a cool idea too. I think I remember seeing something similar months before this that got completely lost. By similar, I mean I remember it being almost scene for scene. But then again, I'm working off five year old memory, so I might be wrong.
so what was the plan for this?
I'm sad this was canceled. But at least you let us know it's not coming back, instead of us waiting and waiting. I hope you change your mind someday.

Long term, it was to explore the ways this world and the US were different yet similar if that makes sense. Plus the native nations of the world had their own counterparts based off of history (i.e the Griffon Empire was a dead ringer for Imperial Germany at the time as per the general headcanon back in those days) and with some technological developments Equus slowing coming into civilian and military life across the world. There definitely would've been a main bad guy but I never got that far in thinking of one (keep in mind these were the days before Tirek was introduced).

Before I decided to cancel the story entirely, I did toy with someday returning to it and even designed a new world map which was Earth pretty much as I realized that the world map I had originally both fucking sucked and would fuck up the weather to say the least. What we would call the Americas were largely empty save for some allied native kingdoms and a few colonies. Equus was suppose to be in its equivalent of the Age of Discovery.
