Status Update & A Gift · 4:35pm Aug 20th, 2014
Hello everyone, how ya doin'? Me? Well for starters, the second chapter of ISOE is about let's say 65% complete. I don't want to give an exact date only because it might not arrive then, but don't worry you won't have to wait until January to see the next one (I'm not that lazy).
Anyways, I thought I'd release a little bonus materiel, mainly the map I'm using for this.
Yes the map was way too big to fit on this blog post, so I just linked it. Also the size of the US is not for scale, just a reference for its location in Equus.
Lastly, I want to thank everyone for the support. I hope I can keep delivering as well as I have been so far.
Nice picture.
Good to see you are still working on ISOE.
Cant wait for all the first contact shenanigans.
Nice update. It's always nice to see a map with a story like this.
Looking forward to the next chapter, always good to have it better than early.
Looking good! I can't wait to see the next chapter!
Hmm...so a Pangaea continent, eh?
Neat!

While yes, your neighbors happen to be closer to you, it can also cause things like border clashes and increased border security. On the plus side, it makes trade easier. There are also less countries but that's because there hasn't been a war bad enough to have balkanization to come into play nor have any of the empires set up a puppet state (excluding Romanova to the Griffons that is...). Also, Maretonia is a client state to Saddle Arabia while the Crystal Empire is a protectorate of Equestria. The Badlands are also only recognized officially by the Minotaurs, everyone else views them as a rouge state or isn't concerned with them.
I thought the Crystal Empire was to the north, the Griffins to the east, and the dragons to the southeast?

I'm using my own map for the story. Actually, if you're standing in the right position they could still be facing in those directions.

But the Crystal Empire is closer to the equator than Equestria.
Alaska looks a little small. Compared to any other state, Alaska is huge.

It says in the OP that the US' size is not drawn for scale.
2386813 sorry, didn't see that. The pic was blocked when I read this a school and I looked at home hours later so I forgot. Btw that was a fast response.
2386452 Ah, okay, so it's like a semi-AU. Gotcha.
2386452 Well actually the crystal empire on your map is at the bottom of equestria so it could only ever be to the south/west the map would have to be reversed for it to be accurate. Actually that's an interesting idea, what if Alaska was closest to the South Pole and Puerto Rico was closest to the North Pole?
I am curious what will happen, its still a rather highly ambitious project there after-all.
