I’m sorry if I’ve worried anyone by just disappearing after my previous blog post. I’m okay, but I’ve been emotionally down due to the current state of things. This has left me with little interest in writing and, I’m sorry to say, I’m not sure if I will return to finish the story I started.
Some people have been asking me when I will do a sequel for To be a Changeling. The good news is I have over 20 chapters finished but right now being able to continue it is up in the air. I work for a hospital and for the past few months things have been insanely busy not to mention stressful. Add to that a shortage of help in my particular department along with a pandemic and you get some very
There are only 2 more chapters left for To be a Changeling. Its not the end of the story. I'll be taking a break and then I'll be back with the next cycle of the story. TY to everyone who's enjoyed reading this for over the past 6 months.
I spent all the time today, that I normally set aside for myself to write, trying to come up with 24 names for royal guards. Below is what I ended up with. See if you can guess what kind of pony they are and their gender.
I've seen that name used a lot but I'm cool with it. Here are a couple if ya think ya want tah name the others besides the main larva: Double, Replica, Tresemme, Boomy, Flutterby, Noishe, Echo Call and whatever floats thy mind.
5005044 One author had Princess Cocoon and another author had Princess Insectus (I think she made queen, i know she lived)
My point is that Pupa is imaginative enough to at least require a passing knowledge of insect anatomy terms. Is it great? It's not in that 'new girl' level in the school but it does measure up to the levels of Thorax and Chrysalis.
5005044 I've seen it used before, the story and characters were great and Pupa was a good side character, I hope yours lives up to my favorite story, which a changeling princess happens to have the name Pupa.
Frankly it's an incredibly common name, but from what I'm understanding of Changeling naming conventions are all insect related. I mean Pupa sounds like a good name, like a kid's name, or more later on. Heck could do some world building and 'royals' or those destined with higher, loftier goals would be able to change their name, or it's a title, or whatever dude.
tl;dr: I like the name. Don't limit yourself to simple bug parts. Ocellus for example, is the simple eye for invertebrates.
Eh, I’m fine with it. It’s there problem if they don’t.

I like it. It oddly also fits the pony you're using.
Edit: or are we talking about the story?

I have a dozen other larva I have to name so I might be, but I am trying to keep all the names insect related.

Not all changelings are named after insects... just saying.

I like Pupa. It's nice. I hope you aren't discouraged by others. This is your story, after all, not theirs!

So wait, the character is a female? Cause Pupa sounds so much like a female name.
