So, I'm working on the next installment of the Pinkiverse, and there's a musical number in the second chapter. I'm wondering if anybody knows the best way to format this. I was originally going to format it in the typical book style:
Fleur led the first verse, after rolling her eyes at the purple pegasus. It was probably to get back at her, as Twilight had seemed ready to sing first.
"At the Gala,
All the royals
They will meet fair Fleur de Shy
They will see I'm just as regal at the Gala"
But it gets rather hard with as many different ponies that have solos, and with the chorus in the background. Would it be better formatted with colors?
Right here at the Gala!
"All our dreams will come true
Right here at the Gala
At the Gala"
Rainbow was next, earning a scowl from Twilight.
"At the Gala" "It's amazing"
"I will sell them" "Better hurry"
"All my appletastic treats" "Yummy yummy"
"Hungry ponies" "They'll be snacking"
"They will buy them" "Bring your money"
"Caramel apples, apple sweets" "Gimme some"
"And I'll earn a lot of money
for the Apple family!"
What are your thoughts?
Why do I have a bad feeling about this?
Well, I definitely have to say this looks like it could be a pretty entertaining song. And, I have to say, it IS surprising that you are doing the first season finale this relatively soon (i.e. only the fourth story in the series). Still, I respect your right to do things the way you want to.
