Big help, major proofreading · 9:32pm Nov 25th, 2018
I haven't done this in a while. How does it work again?
Oh, right. A foreword or something to get your attention. Well, I've been working on the upcoming chapter for mlaabq, if a bit idly. I have been turning it around in my head for quite a while, and I think that's an important part of the process, at least for me. So, you know, still working on it, but it's not ready yet, and it could take a while if I'm gonna write two or three shorter chapters in addition to chapter 23.
I do have something else to offer: The fruits of RP422's labor! Come on up on stage, RP, and everyone give him a hand! Even though I'm not a game show host and you're not in an audience.
RP422 has been working very diligently for quite some time now, doing some serious proofreading in all the previous chapters of mlaabq. English not being my native language, I have trouble wrapping my head around split-writing, or whatever it's called, and so I've really overused hyphens it seems. In addition, there has been a lot of prettying up in general. Missed quotation marks, missed capitalization, some typos, etc. He found a lot more than I ever did, so if you like how the story reads, from now on RP422 definately deserves cred.
So, RP, I've sent a lot of pretty casual thank yous your way when you said you had finishes with a chapter, and I thought that it would be appropriate to give you another thank you, here, publicly, to give it some weight. Thanks a lot. Seriously.
RP was an excellent proofreader. I'm not sure I want to flood his inbox with editing requests, but check with him anyway.
There are a few additional paragraphs here and there, as well as an extended scene in chapter 17.
So yeah, the story is a lot smoother now, I'm working on the upcoming chapter as well as pilot chapters for two, possibly three sequels to mlaabq, and RP422 did a great job. What else? Hmm, I'll just leave another general thank you to all the people who helped out with the previous chapter
... I think that's it. Cheers
PS: In case something looks off, from all the copy-pasting from google docs perhaps, please send me a heads-up.
It is difficult to overstate the value of a good editor, you're lucky to have him!

Verily. I should get him onto my upcoming chapter. As dull as it is to edit typos in an chapter that's currently being written, it's even more dull to go back and do it for old stuff. Creds for that as well to him.

You say he's been tidying up past chapters as well? Well then! An excuse to reread the whole thing again!

Yeah, I gave pretty much the whole story a look over. There was probably nearing on a thousand individual corrections.

Good. It's better now than it was a few years ago, but the transition from google docs to fimfiction can still be a little wonky, so do tell if you see something that sticks out. Bad formatting and stuff

Lots of hyphens and single quotation marks
4972840
That's not that dull. Catching errors before they're repeated many times over is better. Having to correct the same error hundreds of times is what's dull.

What’s this? A crossover?
RP422 you are bloody everywhere mate.

That's what I mean. I started having single quotation marks around Gabe's internal monologue in chapter 17, and the chapters before that didn't have any until now, so that was the same error a few hundred times

Crossover?
