Twilight Velvet reference sheet! (Generic Update Post #832088) · 11:38pm Oct 22nd, 2018

Twilight Velvet lives for the thrill. In most days, this means writing about scientific breakthroughs, caring for two rambunctious foals—Shining Armor and Twilight Sparkle—and fiddling with magic, electronics, and magical electronics in the lab. In other days, it means traveling to distant locales, finding ancient treasure, and shooting the shit out of bad guys alongside a maverick archeologist. It wasn’t always this way, and living a double life means she’s constantly in over her head. Not that Velvet has any complaints—it sure gets the adrenaline flowing faster than the Fillydelphia Motocross Trials.

Hello, guys! So several months ago, I commissioned this reference sheet from the talented artist L1nkoln. For the people who've been following me for a while now, this reference sheet depicts Twilight Velvet in both her past, chubby physique and her present athletic physique, along with the scars and signature hooded leather jacket.

You might even spot some continuity in the scars here and there... :moustache:

Hope you fellows like it!

Enhanced systemic baddassery

At first, I was going to reply to you by making a joke about how enhanced systemic badassery is much better and less awkward than the alternative: enhanced localized badassery.

But then I realized that enhanced localized badassery can make for some pretty interesting characters.

Think about it: if the badassery is localized in the brain, you get a character who’s pretty weak physically, but can outsmart his opponents. If the badassery is localized in the legs, the character may be good at kick-based martial arts, but fail if the enemy gets up close and grapples him—boom, instant character strengths and flaws.

Kind of like what you see in a typical RPC game like Dungeons and Dragons. Pump up your strength scores so your Fighter class character can swing his sword like an idiot... but win!
