I'm back from the dead!

I just want to say that even though I didn't reply to you guys back when you commented on my previous chapter, I'm grateful for what you've all said. And I'm glad you all are sticking around and enjoying this story despite my...scheduling difficulties.

Now as for my absence, apart from the usual med school stuff getting in the way, I've been busy trying to get this story ready for Equestria Daily. Their list of revisions is long and while it's mostly minor grammar mistakes, there's also some stylistic aspects that were pretty hard to wrap my head around. I even had to add two new Spike scenes (which are not required for any of my veteran readers to go back to, thank goodness). Hopefully, second or third time's the charm, because after this update, I'll be resubmitting this fic to EqD again!

Now don't you guys worry about the next chapter. The first draft is actually finished; it just needs a few more revisions. It was actually supposed to be joined with this one to create an 8.8k-long behemoth, but I decided to split it into two.

Anyway, onwards to the new chapter!

Woohoo, awesome, can’t wait to read it. Though I gotta ask, why did you need to add more Spike scenes to get it on EQD. abs will they be in a future chapter of. Previous ones

It was less an issue of “too few Spike scenes,” although that’s also a problem. The greater problem is that the placement of the Spike scenes is a bit unbalanced. Seven chapters without Spike was a bit excessive, so I added a Spike scene in Chapter 11 so there are now about 3-4 chapters without Spike. There is also an extra Spike scene in Chapter 15 in order to make the transition from past to present easier to see,

You’re welcome to read the Spike scenes if you want, but I designed them so that older readers were not required to read them.

Also, it wasn’t just EqD who pointed it out. There were like 2-3 reviewers and at least one commenter who pointed out the imbalance in my Spike scenes.
