When I said I wasn't dead, I wasn't kidding. Not dead; just very sluggish. 
So, first illustration of the Lightning Mare, anyone? Although the Lightning Mare backstory is completely original, her design takes from a lot of inspiration from the native pre-colonial tribes of the southern Philippines. Granted, when she's taken over by the Spectrum's powers, that design isn't readily apparent, but I do like how Jod tried to maintain some semblance of the original pony.
Great artist, by the way! I'm not sure if he's still open to commissions, but you should check out his work regardless!
Speaking of backstory, a good chunk of this chapter is, unfortunately, one that can be considered exposition. Nothing you guys haven't read about before—just clearing up some aspects of the Lightning Mare's background. I feel pretty dirty about including an info-dump this late and so blatant, but...eh, what can I do? My pre-readers have been saying the plot past Chapter 18 was getting bloated, so I had to progress the story more quickly...
