There was once a space, between the place of your birth and the place where you were, measured in moments of latitude and the relative movement of a distant and uncaring sun.

She still believed in the sun. The same way she still believed in gravity. It was something that was there and couldn't be escaped, but it wouldn't catch her now that she'd started to fall.

    The Skyking Flies Still

"I wasn't really planning on landing." -- The Skyking

People disappear from the internet. Blogs are abandoned, forums fade and last posts are made. You might wonder what happened to them, but you'll never know.

Everything is True; Nothing is Permitted

Krakatoa just went kraka-boom and that great lady might be setting a trend among her sisters.

I hope the first time you heard about this was from a My Little Pony fanfiction website, so you can enjoy the freely-floaty feeling.

    Unfortunate paralells to the Nazarene

Not as dead as I had advertised.
Not as undead as one would suspect. Utter distate for the brains of others I have met. Most of them anyway.
Raising a toast, but it isn't really mine and the toast is actually grape juice.

Thank You and Welcome · 9:00pm Nov 1st, 2012

That right there,

is a gorefic in the feature box. I'm not sure if I've ever seen that happen before. I guess it must have been a Halloween thing.

Anyway, to everyone who contributed their thumbs, stars and comments, thank you. You have a special place in my heart.

To the new voyeurs, Welcome to My Nightmare.
If anything more perfectly expresses my soul than Alice Cooper on the Muppet Show, I don't know what it is.
I'll try not to disappoint you with whatever comes next, and continue living up to my reputation of utterly bizarre pony stories.

Lastly, a plug for the Cockroach Club. We're an assortment of philosophers, underground writers, anarchists, punks, pornographers and fools.
In case you need further convincing, Celestia's Big Day was an entry for the Club's weekly writing competition, MINDFUGUE MONDAYS. The goal is to write the story that generates the most shock, confusion, bafflement, etc in the audience. There is no prize, but there is a prize (no, actually there isn't). We do have a nice folder for winning entries though. It says "winners" on it.

So: thank you, welcome, please. I am so well mannered, my momma would be proud. Of my manners. Maybe not the amount of time I spend writing fanfic for a cartoon.

Actually the prizes do exist, but they are completely immaterial entities, existing in the plane of shared shreds of consciousnesses present in the club.
We should really make some thing that would at least be a vessel for it. No idea what, maybe even some kind of mspaint'ed image.
Or something akin to TWE's video.

Not sure if I would want to receive anything like that, though.

You're welcome, but is your story going to win because of that? Or is it disqualified like your other one that was featured? I'm still a little confused on how that's determined... most thumbs down? It's probably written somewhere in the club, but I'm too lazy to look.

Anyways, I agree with zel... something should be made as the prize for ultimate shamelessness. I might take a crack at Mindfugue Mondays then...

467491 As Wrath said it earlier, his story failed the contest by being so explicitly good.
Of course, it is not like someone actually attempts to win with writing seriously and sticking to prompt.
Actually, I saw maybe two stories that were actually relevant to the topic. Oh well, we will take anything!

467491 Ya know, I don't think it should be disqualified for that, at least in this case. Sure it got tons of praise, but it still did get the most bafflement and resulted in an enormous lot of people saying it genuinely blew their mind. Which is probably the noblest aim of Mindfondler Monday, besides urging more people to give writing a go

Which brings me to my next point. Anyone reading this, especially if you haven't written before, I implore you to join in the fun. The worst that can happen is you'll win, and here that's a good thing.

Pony stories shouldn't be taken so seriously

467531 Totally agree, pony stories should not be taken seriously... but I've gotten hatemail for my feature fics. So obviously, there are people that treat pony fanfiction... like it's their fucking baby. The elaborate hate in the mail I receive is actually quite amusing.

The "No Featured" thing is a relic to the original Trollfic Tuesdays incarnation. The goal was to get the most downvotes and write an entry for the next week. Basically, to be shit.

Our rebranded scoring system is based on reactions expressing confusion, bafflement, outrage, anger, mind-blowedness, etc. In the event of a tie, comments indicating you made people sad will count, because I drink those sweet, sweet tears for nourishment. Fortunately, most of them have been landslide victories, so no one has had to think about it too much.
Getting Featured is its own reward. Also, makes the competition a little unfair. More views (2,000+) = bigger net = more fish, regardless of whatever else happened.
But, perhaps most importantly, I'd feel like an asshole giving myself an award I made up. If I never win, that isn't a problem.

I said the word music in my story.
The prompt is just something to give people a launching point. I'm setting a deliberately bad example (late entries, ambiguous connection to topic), so people won't feel pressured. Or maybe I'm just a lazy fucker who can't do what he's supposed to.

Yes, this is awesome. :heart::heart::heart::heart::heart:

And also thanks for showing me that typing test game thing... I'm basically addicted to it now.
