There was once a space, between the place of your birth and the place where you were, measured in moments of latitude and the relative movement of a distant and uncaring sun.

She still believed in the sun. The same way she still believed in gravity. It was something that was there and couldn't be escaped, but it wouldn't catch her now that she'd started to fall.

Everything is True; Nothing is Permitted

Krakatoa just went kraka-boom and that great lady might be setting a trend among her sisters.

I hope the first time you heard about this was from a My Little Pony fanfiction website, so you can enjoy the freely-floaty feeling.

"I wasn't really planning on landing." -- The Skyking

That isn't the case for Richard Russell's shortlived blog. Presumably created at the bayonet point of a grader's pencil, he only made a few posts and then dropped off without ceremony.
Eight months after his last post and one year ago (again) today, the Skyking grabbed for the brass ring which had been held just out of reach for his entire life, and this postmodern Icarus did something beautiful for himself.

But from that selfish heroism we are all left richer. There is no need to mourn him because his flight shall last forever.

“The eyes have their pupils excessively dilated, and momentarily emit lightning-like flashes, produced by the reflection of the light from the tapetum lucidum at the back of the organ, which in some aspects causes the eyes to look like globes of fire.”
