What? I'm not a complete bastard. That's Chromosome you're thinking of. He's the one who rigged the Nightmare Night contest so I'd finish next to last in the voting.
I'm kidding, of course. Chromykins and I are still total SHILs (Super-Hetero Internet Lovers); after all, he did choose NIGEB as his number one judge's pick in the final post--without any bias, I've been assured. And to be honest, I think I kinda understand why NIGEB didn't do so hot in the voting, especially considering the fact that spots #3 through #10 seemed to be almost random (and that's a debate I think is best left buried in the past anyway). Point being, I'm still immensely grateful to everyone who voted for it and, in retrospect, commented in favor of it after the final result was out. Seeing that many people (including several other authors in the contest) protest its poor showing like that was a pretty damn special sight to see. So thanks for that, guys.
But moving on from that, I'm sure there are a few of you wondering why I tagged people who favorited some of my other stories in this. The answer is quite simple: I'm multitasking. Aside from showing off that amazing GIF up there--the one at the end of the FIMFic version of NIGEB, by the way, was put together by the always artistically gifted and inclined CouchCrusader, and my God is it fucking amazing--I also wanted to give a status update on all the rest of the shit I'm supposed to be working on during the hours and hours I'm using to feed my Borderlands 2 addiction. So without further ado... this is that.
Harmony - a.k.a. the one I'm sure most of you came here to hear about. This little brainchild's fate is pretty well set in stone: soon as I put a .44 slug through Handsome Jack's stupid fuck face, I'll be hard at work on Part 3 of the Farmer's Market level. Sit tight, folks; progress is coming.
Breaking Bricks - I honestly don't know what's going to happen with this one. I still have a pretty good feeling about the plot, and giving Brick's perspective on the world and everything in it is absolutely some of the most fun I've had in all my years of writing. That being said, though, Harmony is certainly a much bigger priority, and to be honest, I'm not sure when or even if I'm ever going to get back to it, especially with the other ideas I have waiting in the wings. I know there are still a few people waiting for a new chapter, and all I can say to you guys at this point is that I'm sorry. I wish I had both the time and the attention span to devote myself to writing the way certain connoisseurs of small dresses and eruptions who shall remain unnamed can. If I can, I'll try to get back to this sometime in the near future, but unfortunately I still can't make any promises with regard to that. When I only have time to put serious work into one story at a time, it's hard to justify picking the one with 921 hits over the one with 5,400 hits and over a thousand followers.
Crazy Bitch - This one, I'm a little more certain about, though the decision I've come to is not good. Barring a catastrophic shift in my current interests, I will in all likelihood never see this through to completion. Aside from the fact that my sudden and still personally inexplicable urge to write a clopfic has long since passed, a lot of the themes I was going to focus on within the narrative are very similar or even identical to some of the major ones I'm touching on in Harmony. Furthermore, I've also come to realize that while the story does feature ponies in it, there's also no real reason why it does. There's nothing about the story that ties it to the universe of MLP, nothing that would make converting it into a story that the general population might read any more difficult that changing the characters' species and switching around a bit of the terminology. As such, it's very unlikely that it will ever be continued on this site, though if my interest returns I may rewrite it as a work of original fiction. We'll see what happens, I guess.
