    Droppin' By

Hello, I was in the neighborhood and had just realized that my last blog post was a bit of a downer, given that it was around the time of my Grandma's passing and funeral. I think I oughta leave you folks with something a bit more upbeat or at least something neutral.

    And Now, A Newsletter

Huh, back in July I said I oughta talk more around here. It's now the day after Christmas and I have not, in fact, talked more around here.

So, I'll give you the rundown on what I've been up to since then. Warning, it gets a little long in talking about last summer's vacation and about a new fixation I have.

Thoughts on "On the Road to Friendship" · 4:19pm Sep 4th, 2018

A road trip episode, you say? Well, it can't be any worse than the Sandwich Brothers' road trip.

It can, however, still be pretty cruddy in a more relatable way. Sleeping in the same room--or trailer--as someone does expose you to their annoying sleeping habits--like my dad's snoring, or my brother's sleeptalking, or someone tossing and turning, or grabbing random objects, or my silly little habit of switching sides so my head is at the foot of the bed whenever I'm uncomfortable and having trouble sleeping (what's weird is that it always works)--which my sister was exposed to when we went to Goblin Valley a couple weeks back and woke up to my feet right next to her face. And to say nothing of the heat whenever we take a trip down south! But I digress.

Also, that wagon looks uncomfortable to sleep in, and I'd probably stay up all night trying to stretch because I don't like cramped spaces. Still, Starlight just giving the wagon away without Trixie's consent is just low. Imma roll up a newspaper and smack her on the head for that.

I do question why Starlight couldn't go an get a reservation at an inn while Trixie got those haycakes...? And why the Saddle Arabian guy wanted the wagon? And why it only took a day for them to get to Somnambula (judging by their behavior when they went to bed that night), when it should take about a week to get there (I at least give Cheese an excuse of jester magic subtly bending reality for him so he could travel quicker, but even he'd take a few days to get there). Even if horses can generally travel faster than humans (even when just walking), it doesn't take them a day to get that far. I might be taking that last one too seriously, but it still bugs me.

But, still, this is a decent episode. At least Trixie was actually tolerable this time (I swear, since No Second Prances, she's been getting a lot more annoying, so this was a breath of fresh air of a sort). And I admit it, the song was a lot of fun. ^^

The travel time was clearly cut short by musical number magic. But yeah, Starlight really should've used the line time to make a reservation.

like my dad's snoring

Believe you me, I feel your pain. My dad also snores like a jackhammer and a rocket engine are having a not-so-civil disagreement. It's gotten to the point where my mom sleeps in another room most nights! :derpytongue2:

As for the strangely short trip to Somnambula, I'm guessing that maybe Starlight occasionally teleported the two of them and the wagon short/medium distances? She definitely has the stamina for it.

I completely expected you to mention him.

I really loved this episode personally. Loved Trixie. Loved Starlight (Though, yeah, it was kinda rude to sell Trixie's wagon without permission). Loved Hoo'far. I just loved it.
