Well, at this point, that end part the song covers that I haven't written in the fic yet is just a general vague direction that anyone who's reading the fic has already figured out. I haven't spoiled any details, so I still have several things under wraps to surprise readers with.
But, anyway, I've been working on this parody of Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire" that covers the story of Brotherly Bonding Time for some time now, and it's been both a great joy and an utter pain to work on it. If you are put off by the sheer length of that story but are still curious about it, then you can get the basic story from this little ditty right here! Granted, thanks to songs being by their nature short, there are some details from the story that are missing, but the general narrative is still there.
Anyway, the original song is here, and here's the instrumental if you want to try and sing along (I've sang this thing a lot in order to work and rework the lyrics so that it flows smoothly, at least for me. If it doesn't for you... I'm sorry, I tried).

I think this song sums up BBT nicely. You're right in that enough of the fic has been written that its lack of completion doesn't really matter--at this point, it's likely going to be "find Wayer Rune, defeat Wayer Rune, return the wolves to normal, go home with a better understanding of each other". Nothing says I can't be surprised with the details along the way, though!
You know, this song makes me think perhaps the entire story would have been well served with a framing device of an elderly Cheese and Tomato telling the story of their youthful road-trip to a huge group of grand-foals.
