IN WHICH I SLEEP ALL DAY BUT WRITE NOW
Happy (belated) Canada Day, all ya hosers! 🇨🇦 In honour of the occasion, here's The Band.
See, all of them were Canadian except drummer Levon Helm, who hailed from my home state. Anyway:
I'm usually a super-light sleeper, but I spent most of today zonked the fuck out while listening to Sakura Gakuin. More fulfilling psychologically and spiritually than watching or reading the news, which is just an endless stream of depression unless you're a quasi-fascist. Or Canadian -- enjoy your legal pot in October you wonderful bastards. Also, please invade us again. Y'all have the best snipers in the world, so "neutralizing" a few troublesome White House advisers, Cabinet members, and one turtle-ish US Senator should be a breeze.
Apparently my mother tried to wake me up this afternoon and couldn't. It did rain today, which might also have something to do with it.
So after I woke up and ate supper, I decided to attempt writing. While working on an AJ + Rarity story, I realized I was engaging in "Show Don't Tell", so I decided to write a prologue to show, and it ended up running long enough to be a chapter in its own right. But I got to have Sunset and Flash interact again, which is always a lot of fun.
Problem is I still don't know how to end the story. Rarity and AJ are having a conversation about Sunset and I'm not sure where it's going to want to go, if anywhere. Still, I really want this story to exist. I haven't written for AJ in a long time and I want to do her some justice, be a sane voice in a world of insanity.
What would she tell Rarity about the latter's crush on Sunset? What advice would she give -- "Jus' git it out there"? -- That's something I'll have to figure out now that the prologue is finished.
Wel'p, back to work. Hopefully THIS blog wasn't too long.
