Moth Plays Dark Cloud 2: The Final Episode: Evil Made Flesh · 11:08pm Jun 18th, 2018

In which Max and Monica climb the Dream Spiral to vanquish Dark Element in the final battle for the fate of the world.

This is it.

The final battle.

The end of Dark Chronicle.

For those of you who've been with me on this journey, thank you, and I hope you've enjoyed experiencing this classic game with me.

We're leaving behind Max and all his friends, who still have an adventure waiting for them--but that's a tale for another time. Max is heading down into the deep, dangerous mines, but as for us? Me, you, my readers and viewers?

Our next destination is the stars.

Get ready...for ROGUE GALAXY.

Thanks for watching, and I hope you'll join me for the next adventure!

Thought I'd mention something I came across completely by accident while playing Dark Cloud 2 in Chapter 3.
If you have a weapon with the Steal Ability, Smiling Fairy Village in Starlight Canyon is a gold mine of elemental stones, since it only has Smiling Fairies and Flame, Chill, Thunder, and Wind Gemrons (which each have a chance to drop - or have stolen - the Crystal, Element, or Stone of their element), everything goes down rapidly even with low level weapons making it a great weapon grinding spot, and there are no mimics to worry about.
Not to mention the secondary Spheda prize for that course (for the second distortion repaired there) is an Experience Coin.

Oooh, useful info for my completionist non-recorded run. Thanks for pointing that out!

Another point of interest.
Did you know that the NPCs who give bonus when leveling specific weapon types also increase the number of synth points the weapon gets for its level past +2? With Lin as my NPC, my Crystal Brassard +3 got 5 synth points instead of 4.
Btw, can you put Lin in your party post chapter 3? And does anyone give bonus to leveling wrenches and hammers?
And grinding in SFV, I'm currently at 34 gold bars and regularly break 10000 gold (or whatever the currency is, I forget) without noticing until I go to sell the things I get there that I don't need like Dark Coins and weapons I'm not going to build up. Chests contain those a lot, as well as Bombs.

That's not a "did you know" kind of thing, that is literally the point of those characters. Cedric for hammers/wrenches, Gerald for guns, Milane for swords.

You will not get Lin back ever once you finish chapter 3 and nobody else has her bonuses.

I didn't know about the "get more synth points per level" bit.

Weird, because until this playthrough that's all I assumed they EVER did. I didn't know they also add Attack boosts. Just Synth Points, which has always been the only real reason to recruit them.

Updated above reply, BTW.

Something else I discovered funny in chapter 3.
If you manage to get Georama to 90% completion (everything but completing the chapter), the game actually spoils the outcome for you.
One of the hooded people you talk to in the future will say that Crest told him that "you saved her life once long ago", when at that point you know Crest as a guy.
I found that both neat and amusing.

Yep. Also, if you'll go back to when I was doing chapter 3, I pointed that out also. :raritywink:

Missed that somehow.
