Hello Wastelanders!
My “FOE SCOUNDRELS” story is set 100 years before stable 2 opened. Whilst I am being careful not to wreck what is at least 200+ stories, of which I’ve read 3, and reading my 4 right now, I did have a dangerous idea.?
If I could write into the story and develop an existing character or their ancestors, who would you like to see?
The title gives away some of my thinking but do you have a better idea? Can you tell me why some of the ones mentioned above are not a good idea?
Answers on a postcard to this address.
Thank you again for reading up to this moment. Ask me anything.
If this is when you leave us, goodbye and safe travels.
If you're still strapped in for the ride, see you in the next chapter.
All good things,
Duskhoof
The thing about using ancestors is that we know that the character will survive no matter what. That is also why games that goes about fleshing backstory out always bomb, we know what there happens, and you can't put any new elements into the story without screwing up. I mean look at Fallout 78 and how green it is, that retconning a lot of lore

this is a good point!
That was exactly one of my worries about putting in known characters. There's a chance it would work if it was ancestors already with foals. you know the foals will live on, but with or with out the parents is in question.

Unrelated but I would like to make a formal recognition of your editing advice on the front page of FOES, would you have push back if I did so? It would not mean doing anything differently, but I feel you've made a sizable contribution to the story. You deserve to have a mention at the very least.
