Moth Plays Dark Cloud 2: Chapter 6, Episode 3: Star Watery Inferno · 8:47pm Jun 2nd, 2018

In which the path to the Water Gem is fraught with frustration and peril.

So without realizing it, I screwed up BIG TIME building up Monica's armlet weapon. I went down the wrong path upgrading from the Platinum Brassard and ended up on the terminus path to LOVE when I wanted to go down the terminus path to Five-Star Armlet.

This means I had to go to G-WEAPONS, buy a base Platinum Brassard, and work my way up from the goddamn ground. Ugh. :ajbemused: It's going to take forever to get it up to what I need it to be.

While running cleanup off-camera after recording this episode, I won the Beginner Class Finny Frenzy and recruited the final pilgrim, Olivie the Firbit.

There's just one more Gem to find before the Chrono Union can be attempted. Will the resistance succeed in stopping Griffon's nihilistic scheme?

Find out in the next episode!

I know you don't want backseat gaming, but I was looking up the number of medals and how to get them, and came across a strategy for the "Item Wipeout" medals that gives a reason to keep Stones around, and wanted to offer it.
Apparently, quite a few enemies are vulnerable to Poison, which can be inflicted by throwing a Poison Apple at them, which - over time - will reduce their health to one. At which point, throwing a stone - or any other piece of fruit - will kill them.

Yeah, I know all about using Poison Apples to that effect. :) I always just use a second Poison Apple when they drop to 1. Or make a Bomb to use, Bombs are easy to make.

I guess that means you know about throwing holy waters at undead enemies too, then. That one's pretty obvious.

On a more pertinent note, what are some major differences you've noticed between the PS2 and PS4 versions?

4875324
That's also the only way you can get the Undead monster badge. So yes. Yes I do.

4875326
There ARE no differences, aside from one emulation-induced graphical glitch. The PS4 version IS the PS2 version, straight port, no changes except the addition of trophies.

4875366
I don't remember being able to put Scoop photographs in the idea book in the PS2 version.

4875372
No, you were ALWAYS able to put them in the idea book. ^^;; There are NO content changes, WHATSOEVER, in the PS4 version, EXCEPT the addition of trophies. That's literally the only change from the PS2 version, because the PS4 version IS the PS2 version.

4875523
That's odd. The PS2 version I played didn't let you do that. I remember it caused me a lot of problems every time I was trying to get a Scoop photo to Donny.

4875611
That's...literally not possible. I mean, scoops save to the Idea Book with everything else automatically. Always have. Always DID. The ONLY time you explicitly need to have a photo on your Idea Board AT ALL is to recruit Claire and the one moon person who wants a picture of the moon (Rufio? Fabio? I can never remember which is which.)

4875611
Was the problem this:

"Hey, where's your Scoops? If you don't bring me any Scoops, I can't give you anything!"

Because if THAT'S the problem you're talking about? That's just the default line Donny says when there aren't any new rewards available.

4875617
I'll have to check that. Watching you play has made me want to play again.

I've also been inspired to recently start a new game mainly because of 4875617, and I can almost guarantee that you were just a tiny bit confused about Donny's default line. (I do not have access to a PS4, I'm playing on a PS2 Slim model.) The game kinda lies to you a bit*: Donny does not actually reward you for Scoops, those rewards are based entirely on your photography level, which can easily be increased at least a few levels without ever taking any scoops at all.

*A bit off-point here, but there's also at least one other little lie in the game's Help menu. Entry #45, "Finny Frenzy 2: Raising Fish" states that you'll get two offspring when you breed fish, but you only ever actually get one offspring.

4875781
Ah, I see. Yeah, that must have been my confusion.

Incidentally, I *just* finished rendering the next episode, but uploading it will have to wait until late night/tomorrow morning because SOMEHOW, while I was playing the game, a MASSIVE THUNDERSTORM rolled into the area out of NOWHERE and I really need to shut everything down until it goes away. >.<

Yes, do. Don't want anything damaged.
