One Is the Loneliest Number That You Ever Knew

Two can be as bad as one
It's the loneliest number since the number one

No is the saddest experience you'll ever know
Yes is the saddest experience you'll ever know
'Cause one is the loneliest number that you'll ever know
One is the loneliest number even worse than two, yeah

It's just no good anymore since you went away
Now, I spend my time just
    Making up rhymes of yesterday

Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky

I feel super cringe for posting yet another self-hype blog, so I'm gonna borrow a bit of Tolkien's goodwill to get through it.

January 2, 2023. Three days. Peace.

    Best,
    GentlemanJ

Matters of Grave Importance (lol, see what I did there?) · 11:26pm Oct 27th, 2012

A fine evening to you all,

As you all have already seen, the first chapter of the newest installment of The Journey of Graves has just come out. From the comments, faves, and thumbs ups, it seems you all are having a grand old time, which just tickles me pink. That being said, there are a couple of issues I'd like to address lest there be riots and madness at later dates.

First off, scheduling. I have every intention of keeping up my regular weekly posting schedule, but life has a funny way of taking my intentions and roflstomping them into painful submission. I am anticipating a veritable s***storm coming my way between now and Christmas, so it's very possible that posts will be infrequent and sporadic. I'll do my best to let you all know in advance when updates will be on hold, so I ask that you all bear with me with thanks in advance.

Second, the story itself. Many of you have expressed concerns over the time skip. Not only have I neglected to explain the whys and hows of their move and Graves's new responsibilities as a teacher, I have also (in my devilishly dastardly ways), completely skipped over the best parts of the Rarity Graves romance: I've included no stories about their dating phase, no rendition of their wedding, and spun no tales on the inevitable meddlings from our favorite trio of troublesome tots. Add in the fact that I still haven't explained what happened during Operation Elder, how Graves exactly came back from the dead, and what's happening out west in the Savage Lands, this seems to be gearing up for a conclusion that's chock full of plot holes and disappointment.

Be at peace, and know that all is well.

Rest assured that all, and I do mean all of these issues will be resolved in their due time. It may not make sense now, so I'm just gonna ask you all to keep this in mind: I think that Happily Ever After will be the greatest story in the Journey series to date. All questions will be resolved in course, so for now, just trust that I'm not gonna leave you guys hanging. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy the show as I spin out how the Journey will go.

Sincerely,
GentlemanJ

P.S. I didn't want Luna to feel like we like her sister more, so here you go.

At least you explained why you skipped it.

I leave you to your wise ways of plotting.:raritywink:

Don't worry I think your doing a great job. And is it alright that while I'm reading I think of myself as Graves:twilightsheepish:?

Huzzah! The story has continued! Come my muffin brethren! We shall celebrate this joyous occasion by shedding our paper baking liners and dancing buck ass naked in the hot melted butter rain! Rejoice!

Thank buck for that!!!! Can't wait to read about it!!!

Also, Luna is best princess, and in keeping with these stories theme's.

Lol, jk. :rainbowlaugh: I like to think of Graves as a man all his own, but you're free to enjoy the story as you please.

do you guys really think that I would let him continue if it wasn't going to be good? Really?

Have some faith guys, this is gonna blow your minds.

oh that's so fucking cute!:yay:
but I get what you be sayin
at first I was like "WTF?! WHAT IN THE WORLD JUST HAPPENED?!?!?"
but with this I now undertsnad you did it on purpose, so its ok.
one thing, why do they keep calling eachother "husband and wife"?
for the love of luna, THINK OF A PET NAME OR SOMETHING, MON!:flutterrage:
I mean, more than a month married and still like that? COME ON!:facehoof:

453352who the hoof are you?:derpyderp1:

453384

editor and idea guy

go check out the top of chapter 1 in the newest story

453396oh you that guy?!
*bows* I am not worthy of being in your presence:fluttershyouch:

Aaaaaand Luna is once more best pony princess. :3

Huzzah the awsomeness has been doubled!

Wonderful approach. I am guessing that you have all of this planned out and are sitting there with a smug grin on your face. That's a good sign. Just do not let your success go to your head--it happens to many authors of your caliber, I am sad to say. Stay skeptical, or you might just end up with something in which you will have no pride. However, judging by what I have just read, you do not seem to be in danger of that situation. Just...be careful.

Have a nice day--really, do.

--Not a brony

Enjoy the journey to the destination.

Where I come from we call this "pulling a George Lucas."

Oh ye of little faith. Be still and know that my works shall be bodacious and excellent. :scootangel:

454031 All I mean by that is you have the whole story planned out beginning to end, and then start somewhere in the middle so that you can go back later and tell the beginning. It's not by any means a bad story telling technique, and I have the utmost faith in your abilities, I just thought I'd put my two cents in.

B- but he didn't explain...! He merely winked, flourished his bowler's cap, and pronounced, 'Hey, trust me.'

454031
In due semiserious response:
:trixieshiftright:Impress me. You know you're being watched... (see what I did, there? :rainbowkiss: Calm down, Rainbow, it's all in good fun.)

456547
True, but we trust him.

456802
He's very trustworthy.

Alright. It's been a few days and this still hasn't made it to the featured box.
