Attention: GentlmanJ Begins His Next Project

    Greetings one and all,

I've dragged this out enough already, so without further ado, here is my announcement.

I will be publishing my first of a trilogy of original novels in the summer of this calendar year!

    Published? What does that mean?

One Is the Loneliest Number That You Ever Knew

Two can be as bad as one
It's the loneliest number since the number one

No is the saddest experience you'll ever know
Yes is the saddest experience you'll ever know
'Cause one is the loneliest number that you'll ever know
One is the loneliest number even worse than two, yeah

It's just no good anymore since you went away
Now, I spend my time just
    Making up rhymes of yesterday

Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky

I feel super cringe for posting yet another self-hype blog, so I'm gonna borrow a bit of Tolkien's goodwill to get through it.

January 2, 2023. Three days. Peace.

    Best,
    GentlemanJ

Since we're all waiting on the big announce anyway, what did you think of MLP after you stepped out? Did Starlight Glimmer, the candy-colored changelings, and the whole School of Friendship thing inspire any story ideas? Did you read any of the IDW comics? Thoughts on G5?

I'm going to be honest, I never actually finished FIM.

I continued watching it for a while and enjoyed it, but then I hit the episode where Fluttershy's brother came to visit. I distinctly remember thinking, "Oh no, I'm not going to like this," and didn't finish watching. After that, something changed. Even though I knew I could've skipped it, something about that one particular moment just stuck. I never moved passed that point, and after a while, found I had no desire to.

Is it worth watching? Should I try to shake things up in the new year by taking another crack at it?

Yeah, Zephyr Breeze was a bit of a facepalm for me too. But every season has had episodes that just don't hit for whatever reason. You should pick up from there and finish it out, because I think the whole Friendship Map/Starlight Glimmer arc is a lot of fun, as are the School of Friendship and Twilight's Ascension arcs after.

And don't forget about the EQG stuff on the side either. Don't know if that's your thing or or not, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Who knows, between all of the unwatched material (and the comics, if you get into them), you might find your muse poking at you to do a Journey AU with the new material in it :pinkiehappy:.
