IN WHICH I DESIRE A VESSEL
Right. So, before I get into what the hell I mean, here's some TheFatRat. I don't think I've posted this one yet. Enjoy!
Now, on with the show…
In just over two days, I will be leaving on my vacation. As I always am whenever I leave my comfort zone alone, I'm paranoid I might die in a car wreck or something. While I wouldn't care, since I'd be dead, it would really suck for y'all if SRA ends up unfinished were something to happen to me, especially since the last two stories are 98% complete, as is a special non-canon epilogue which will *ahem* give some readers what they've been wanting... kind of. I suck at M-rated anything.
So I intend to send one poor schmuck who follows me the links to gdocs of some of my written but unpolished & unpublished stories with a request to publish them as-is if and only if I don't make it back from my vacation.
I could, of course, publish the stories right this second and eliminate the need for a middleman, but they're simply not good enough yet, and with how busy I've been this week, I don't think I'll have time to polish them before I have to leave. I'm the type of writer -- I've said this before -- who is very particular about phrasing; I'll tweak a sentence until it's just right, because, for example, I may use a word too often and need to replace it. I'm also increasingly anal-retentive about word count (you'll notice nearly all of my recent works have word counts ending in a multiple of 25 or 10) and I haven't fed the last two SRA stories into this site to check their "official" count (which differs from gdocs).
Hopefully, this is just me being my usual paranoid self, that I'll have a blast at the concerts, and when I get back home I can finally finish SRA (and the Burritoverse, which I won't rule out working on at the hotel if I have some downtime), so I can move on to my next arc of Sunset stories, which are likely to be my last but will take a long time to do because I set up a much bigger challenge for myself -- I've already started on the first, tentatively titled Blooming Friendship. The second is almost entirely outlined and has been for two years, but I can't figure out a title. If I make it back, I should probably ask a better author than myself for help.
EDIT: Because of my paranoia, I always make a point of having my car (which I've owned for 15 years) checked out before I head out on a long trip. It's a good thing I did, because it turned out my brake pads had become dangerously degraded and might have given out during my travels had I not replaced them right then and there. Cost me a chunk of change, but preventative maintenance is cheaper in the long run vs repairing or replacing something that breaks. Health care is similar -- I took a physical about six weeks ago and my new doctor (my original one retired last year) had me come back in this week to discuss lab results. Physically, I'm in pretty good health! Mentally, of course, I'm a total wreck, but that should be abundantly clear just from reading my stories.
So, absolutely no shock to me, as soon as my dad gets home from rehab, he wants to go back to work (he's an attorney) and, sure enough, when I called him on Wednesday, he was in the office. He's turning out much like my grandpa -- gonna work at that office until literally the day before he dies. Some people derive benefit from routine and he's one of them. I kind of am too. My ex was not.
Anywho, that's all for tonight.
Peace out!
The Calling has to be one of my favorite songs by TheFatRat.
Hope you enjoy your vacation.
That's a pretty smart idea, getting a person to post in case of doom. I'd have thought the dude that proofs for you sometimes was your first choice, but it seems to me like something of an honour for whoever ends up with the task
Enjoy your vacation. :)
What's SRA, It's not on you story page.

SRA = "Sunset's Recovery Arc". Here is the handy-dandy list of all its stories to date.

Thank you! This is the first proper "for fun" vacation I've taken in close to a decade due to various reasons, so I'm looking forward to it. And it's not like I'm heading into totally unfamiliar territory.
