Random snippet to prove I’m still alive

“I got the time off!” The familiar voice emanating from the landline handset was jubilant.

A broad grin crossed Sunset’s face. “Great! Y’know, I can’t remember the last time both our vacation times lined up.”

“Four years, seven months, and twelve days.” The dry, and dryly humorous, reply came back instantly. “But who’s counting?”

    Everfree Northwest

So, uh, yeah, I’m here. I guess I should have mentioned it earlier, but it slipped my mind. Better late than never, I guess.

    Tidbits

Yes, I’m still around, though I still have nothing substantive for Fimfiction—and I’m not sure when, if ever, I will again. All I’ve got at the moment is a handful of random morsels from my tiny but active mind.

    Not naming names [writing tips]

As I’ve mentioned here and there, one of the (many) rules I generally abide by when writing for Twin Canterlots is: avoid using real-world names wherever possible. It’s harder than it seems—especially when one considers indirect coinages as well as direct references—and I don’t always succeed, but in general I find ways to skirt them most of the time. For the handful of people who

Argh! Jossed again! · 7:52pm Feb 18th, 2018

. . . But it probably was inevitable. :twilightoops: Ah well. To revise or not to revise, that is the question.

In the sense of Sunset returning home?

Well, its once by imperial request and once out of desperation, wasn’t it?

Personally, I'm okay with how you wrote Sunset and Celestia's reunion, but if you really feel like it, I won't complain if you do the revisions. And if you don't feel like it, well, that's what the AU tag is for. :trollestia:

i havent been keeping up with canon, what's happened to cause the jossing?

That would involve spoilers of Forgotten Friendship. Once you’ve had a chance to see it, you’ll know exactly what scene I have in mind.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty unfair when Twilight Sparkler turned directly to the camera and said "we've never had any contact with the US State Department." :trollestia:
Kidding!

But seriously, not a lot was jossed in the sense that canon disagrees with your stories, more it just kind of adjusts the timeline a bit. The show's Celestia-Sunset reunion was slightly different than yours, but they both hit the same high notes. I know a very good author who writes an integrated universe set 10 years after the end of the show, he's always having characters "come back from a trip" after the show introduces them.

Yours is still a quality piece of fiction. I bet Cook would be in charge of returning memory stone fragments to Equestria and requesting access to any and all records related to the portal.
