Amusing Idea For Celestia XVII-2...

Probably not going to happen b/c reasons, but I wanted to share...

As you know, I really enjoy surprising plot twists. This one occurred to me while brainstorming for Celestia XVII-2...

Celestia et al. confront Queen Chrysalis. They accuse her of trying to manipulate the Wedding to satisfy a Changeling's need for love.

Chrysalis: Seriously? That's what you think this is about? If that's all that's at stake, you think I would have staged an invasion? There are easier ways to get love--take [Celestia's Romantic Interest], here--he's been a Changeling for, like, eight years now, and no one's complained about him...

[Everyone turns to stare at {Romantic Interest}. {Romantic interest} giggles, then waves sheepishly.]

[Romantic Interest]: Haha... yeah, I've been meaning to tell you about that, Cece...

Almost certainly not going to see the light of day, because I'm not super-fond of the "Everyone Is Changelings" plot. But I still got a laugh out of it, and I hope you do, too!

Celestia: So, [Changeling Husband], how is this gonna... work?

Husband: Much like any other marriage, I suspect.

Celestia: No, [Husband], I mean... how are you going to meet my... needs?

Husband: Tell me what they are, and I shall do my best to serve you with all possible enthusiasm, dear.

Celestia: No, I mean-- how exactly are we going to manage the, uh... succession?

Husband: Succession?

Celestia: I need an heir, Husband.

Husband, blushing furiously: Oh. Oh, Harmony. I... that aspect of the relationship hadn't occurred to me.

Celestia, to herself: Geez... all the stallions in Equestria, and I picked the only one without any clue what to do on his wedding night...

Works in a joke context, but in a serious work where there is some reader investment in the characters... Don't read the comments section. There will be rage. Hilarious rage.

But yeah, the 'Everyone is a changeling' thing can be overused. Oh well.
