New computer's all set up!

So, I have run into immensely good fortune and now officially have a computer guy, because when I went in there on Wednesday to see the damage to my laptop (MINIATURE SLAG HEAP IN A LAPTOP SHELL BASICALLY) he happened to be building a new desktop to sell. Seeing as the thing was already basically done, there to be purchase, and already way, way better than my laptop was, I asked him if I could buy it with a reduced cost in exchange for whatever parts that were still salvageable in the laptop. He agreed, and so today I have humming quietly on the desk next to me a proper desktop tower that is an upgrade over my already pretty damn good laptop in every conceivable way, and thanks to the parts it only cost me $640, which is somewhat less than the two and a half thousand I was planning on spending. I might give myself an extra week to finish the little bonus thing I've been writing to get it out of my system for a while, but if I haven't posted it by the end of next week I'll just chuck it onto the backburner for March instead and get Reunion 33 written. So, basically, back in action, better than ever, and it cost a little over a fifth what I thought it would. Happy ending all around.
