Oh god there's some good news but the bad news is SO MUCH WORSE.
My hard drives are fine. The data's still there, the thing I was working on did not in fact get banished to the void!
However it wasn't my power supply that shit the bed, it was the entire god damn board.
That would cost $1,200 to replace all on its own and at that price I might as well just accelerate my plans and drop another $2.5k loan on a desktop that would mop the floor with my now dead laptop. It's going to be nice being able to type things without feeling the fires of hell contained beneath my palm for the first time in... my god I think it's been like 15 years since I had a proper desktop computer.
Yeah so, I'm probably going to have to go slowly insane starting part 33 on this 12 year old dinosaur and it's worn out unresponsive keyboard. Appropriate I suppose, since this is the laptop where Reunion started in the first place!
Yikes. Tough break, brah.

I'm impressed your laptop still runs after 12 years! Unless we're using "run" as a loose term, like as an "It takes 20 minutes to boot, but it still boots!" meaning.
Sorry 'bout the computer failing though, that's just shit luck. At the very least your hard drive is safe! I keep a really large collection of music and images on my hard drives and always fail to back them up, ending up heart broken when they inevitably fail. Still haven't learned my lesson.
