    What I would do differently

As my main account announced, the Shooting stars fic is done and cancelled. And in it's place is something new. At the same time, a certain writer released season 10 of starfleet. and that got me thinking...what would I do differently.

    More on weapon making later.

    Evolution new chapter!

Yay, a new chapter. No, I havent' watched all of the finale though I was spoiled and it ended the way I wanted it to.

But, you are probably wondering why it took me over a year to finish. Well, it's a long story, and no it doesn't really have anything to do with my burnout or annoyance.

Something occured to me... · 4:52pm Jan 14th, 2018

Ok, so this kind of occured to me while I am fixing up the fourth chapter of evolution...

DC comics has a huge range of magical heroes. No, really, I mean a lot, so much so that it feels like Marvel is kind of tame in comparison. Marvel has the Universal monsters at it's beck and call. DC? It had freaking Beowulf as a cannon character! Yeah, he's cannon, and he fought Dracula, and teamed up with Wonder Woman!!!! There is a whole ton of magical stuff in the DC universe that I feel kind of down that it feels like most of the DC adaptations I watch (DCAU, Arrowverse, Young Justice, and the movies...) mainly stick with the sci-fi stuff like Green Lantern and some of Supes rouges gallery. Even in BATAS they only bearly breach magic, and in Zatana's episode I am still trying to figure out if they just decided to make her non magical in that one ep or not.

Basically, what I am saying is...The DCU feels like a perfect fit for the humane five. Considering all of the stuff that shows up there, it would be a blast to have the girls have to endure and deal with some of the stuff that happens there. Though, it is also fun to come up with why Twilight couldn't use magic when she first arrived (Simple enough, she couldn't figure out how to tap into the laylines of the world. It's like taking a marksman and put him into a world where he has no idea how the guns work or even any bullets. He has the skills and abilities, but he lacks the means to use them.)

So, yeah, expect me to have fun in the DC magical side of things too. Except for Constantine, he isn't in it. Why? Well, there is this certain book that he is burning right now that he heard is pure evil.

Dark Prognosious: Wait, let me go. I'll give you fame, wealth, power. Just don't burn me!

Constantine: Look, all I want is a bottle of whiskey and a carton of smokes (I would use a certain f-word here that is techically what they call a cigeratte in England, but my readers might take it the wrong but I didn't get any of that. So, into the fire you go.

DP: No, AHHHHHHHHH!!!1

Constantine: (Walks away, puffing away while talking to himself) Bloody superhero fanfics. A bunch of teens who become magical badass ponies, I swear on high I think the writer is a loon.

HEY!

Constantine: Don't deny it.

Fact: I have yet to read the comic Hellblazer, see the show, watch the movie, and the only few appearences of Constantine I have ever seen was in: GL's funeral (Hal Jordan), Infinite Crisis, a clip of him in Sandman...yes, I read Sandman, Neil Gaiman is like one of my favorite comic book writers, and in Black Orchid. I just like using him because the idea of a british anti-hero smoking badass who don't give a fuck is fun to read.

I'm also remembering that several major demons and devils are already fighting for Constantine's soul. The Dark Prognosious is small potatoes in comparison.

Huh never thought about it but now that you mention itThe only magical heroes from marvel i can think of are thor dr strange and blade when dc has the gods themselves in an active role

Even then, Blade is way more science based in his powers and Thor is way more godlike than magical. (Wich is then explained in the movies that magic and science are more of the same on asgard. Then we get to the real magic.) Hell, while in Marvel I know the Norse gods and the greeks exist...ok, maybe only Hercules, I can't remember Hermes ever showing up to ask Quicksilver for a race. Dr. Strange is the biggest magical user in the group.

In comparison, here are the DC characters that I know who are magic based: Zatana, Dr. Fate. Swamp Thing is an earth Elemental, Dr. Destiny, Felix Faust, Alan Scott Green Lantern for a while, Etrigan, Ra's Al Ghoul, Shazam, Black Adam, and this is just off the top of my head. And like you said, DC has the entire pantheon out there.

No, I mean all of them exist. Greek, Norse, Egyptian, all of them. Marvel's pantheon is way more science based with things like the Eternals, Galatcus, eternity ect.

Now, all I can see is Constantine being unimpressed while being a bastard.

Your ideas makes sense. I would love to see some super power magical girl type ponies

Off topic, but I noticed that DC is portrayed more accurately in the TV series than in the movies, most of the time they ramp up the dark and edgy factor for supposed mass appeal. When I read the Justice League and Superman comics there's always an underlying theme: he struggles with the never ending battle, the inspiration he brings to equals and mortals a like, his ability to see the best in humanity when they or others turn on him. In other words Superman brings optimism even through a hardened Bruce Wayne. The old Superman cartoons, Justice League cartoons and even Young Justice shows these. Superman and the Justice League will march with you even when all hope seems lost. The movies have no sense of those themes, it's all for spectacle and action.

I'm just saddened that people nowadays will immediately think that DC is of lower quality compared to Marvel. In my opinion both rivals have good quality stories, Zack Synder's simply not writing the Marvel screenplay.

You may not know this, but I am a huge DC and Marvel fan. I know that they both have some of the best comic stories (Demon in the Bottle for Marvel and Terror of Trigun) and some of the worst (Please see Linkara). It just seems that DC can do better on tv with Arrowverse and the like while the movies are just 'eh' at best with Wonder Woman being the cream of the crop. I don't know if this is because the writers just want the DC to be darker or what, but it's how I feel.

One question I have is this: Will the Joker appear in your story as a villain that rangers will fight?
