Things have been...tight these past few months, financial wise. Tight to the point we're struggling to pay all the bills. The money coming in from Patreon has been helping, but...
The last cable bill from Spectrum - for internet - came in at $174 dollars. Neither I nor Mom know how that happened. I'm currently taking in $156 per month from Patreon, less fees.
If Mom can't get the people at customer service to change that, or find a cheaper internet alternative...we'll have to cut internet, phone, and TV just to cover over bills.
About my only chance to fix that is if I somehow can get Patreon earnings high enough to cover the internet bill in its entirety. Otherwise...I might never be able to finish my stories...
If you can help at all - even as much as a dollar enough - please do. If I can't keep writing my stories...I don't know what I'll do...
If you can...please help here: https://www.patreon.com/Tatsurou
If I could help out I would man. I'll spread the word wherever I can.
That should get you part of the way there.
I really would help if i could but i dont even have a bank account so send the money from (let alone any money) but i can pray for you dude(yes religious Christian but a laid back on at that)
I've got some money coming in soon. As soon as I can, I'll help.
that sucks. I sincerely hope everything works out for you.
4773170 Same. I'm terribly sorry, man, but i'll have to make do with praying for you.
That should do it, I make $174...
fees.
With $174 as of now, how does the fee calculation total to?
man if your internet gets cut you can always go to a coffee shop of a fastfood place they give free wifi to work on your stories.
and sooner or later you will get internet back so at worst your just updating slower or putting everything on hold for a bit.
I wish I could help, however with my student loans taking up a majority of my income every month it makes paying my bills difficult. I would see if your state and local government has any services that can help. Also talk to your provider as they may be willing to help locate cost saving measures in your plan.

No laptop or other electronic devices for such things.
4773193
Fees average between 2.9 - 6%, last I checked.
So...if I were making $180-190 a month before fees, I think I'd be safe.
I'm not certain I can afford to donate anything. Well, I can bring up something: My Xfinity/Comcast Cable/Internet costs me about that much each month. And they recently increased my internet speed. Of course, that's internet and cable. So, are you getting anything else with that plan? I don't need a reply, this is meant to help you figure this out.
Fuck. Internet should not be that high.
...Unless they're taking advantage of the new laws about the internet.
Double fuck then.
I'm not trying to use you as a platform, but it just doesn't make any sense otherwise.
Triple fuck as this pisses me off. THis shouldn't be happening.
Fucking Ajit Pai, the companies couldn't even wait a month to start rising bills.
I'll chip in what I can once I'm at the PC tomorrow, but I get even less via Patreon than you do. :( Hang in there, dood.

Thanks.
Put in as much as I can afford currently, hopefully things will pick up for us all soon to make life just a little easier.

Here's the thing: the FCC may have voted on the issue, but it still has to go through Congress, so if Internet companies are jacking up prices already, that's illegal as hell. Given how they would probably already know this, I find it unlikely, though not impossible, that that is what's happening here.
On a side note, wish I could help you dude, but I got no money over here. Hope you stay afloat.

Thumb drive and a public library?
4773250
That gives me an hour tops to write, and I have to ride the bus to get there and back.
If push comes to shove and you have to cut the cable, there are alternatives. A cellular company internet dongle or hotspot would be a great deal cheaper. I think it might be limited data, but it's better than nothing. Enough to keep uploading at least, make sure you can keep this source of income steady. I don't know how writing on this site works, if you have to type it on site or what. If you can write it on an offline program, then upload the file or even copy-paste the text; that would help minimize the data usage. Hopefully you don't have to resort to that, but it's good to have all the options thought of ahead of time in case things go south. If you're already struggling with bills, being unable to write, inevitably losing at least some patrons, definitely wouldn't help matters. I can personally vouch for the dongles, I used to play World of Warcraft without lag on a Sprint one back when I lived in the sticks as a kid. That's been a good few years ago, so the tech has likely improved since then, so don't worry about performance. Anyway, hopefully you don't have to resort to this, but if you do I hope this information has been useful.
I’d donate if I had anything. :( Sorry. Hope it goes your way.
I call shenanigans. Do your homework and check how they're billing you that much. Otherwise I'd just send the bill to that call center reject Ajit Pai.
i hope you can get the money you need.
Just cancelled a chegg subscription, so had some extra. Hope it helps.
Your Patron is over $200 now, how much of that do you take?

As someone else said, it still has to go through Congress, so hopefully it's just a mixup.
4773242
This shouldn't happen.
4773424
Yeah; hopefully, like it's been said, it's' just a mixup.
4773251
No, write at home, put it on the thumb drive, and post it from the library. And you don't have to post regularly. Just keep writing. For you. And post when you can for your admiring fans. Who will understand. Or aren't worth consideration.
4773531
But the comments and the feedback - which I'll then only be able to check at the library - are what keep me going and let me keep writing.
Do you live around rural areas? There is no fucking way it should be that high. Otherwise, the thing with comcast is that they’ll generally up the price without your notice. If they get away with it, they’ll keep on doing so.
Threaten to cancel. They’ll negotiate to make you stay, and that’s when you can make the costs lower. Be assertive and take charge of the negotations though. Say, “it’s too high,” if it comes down to it.
4773673
He said it was Spectrum, but otherwise, your advice is incredibly sound. ^_^
4773678
Ah. Right. I swore I thought they’re both the same thing.
well, could always do the cell phone alternative. if you dont already have one. which by cutting out spectrum would save you maybe around $100 depending on the service plan you get and how many phones you buy. which still would save you money over time with the (hopefully) one time payment of the phone itself(can get some that are free but dunno how nice/useful they are) although i am talking about Straighttalk. so a 1month plan with 10gigs of data for the phone is 45$ and a 1month unlimited everything is 55$. but you would have to get separate plans for the phones.
If you need to, look into getting a Straight Talk phone from walmart or somewhere. It may be expensive that first time, because you buy the phone, but $40 to $50 for unlimited everything is a good deal. I've had it before without issue, even had good enough service to watch YouTube.
Id help out if I could afford it. But I've got several late bills myself.
That's what happens when large companies gain control over interests of freedom rights, in this case:
Gutting Net Neutrality.
$5 a month. And you keep up the good work, Tats.
