I probably won't actually write this, but... · 9:46pm Apr 2nd, 2022
...I had this funny idea for a Pokemon story that derived entirely from the title
Basically, the Pokemon World has been overturned as Team Smougon has taken over, establishing draconian policies of "only the best" Pokemon having any value, arranging society so that Trainers, Breeders, etc have no choice but to breed for "perfect IVs" in order to make their way, resulting in thousands of Pokemon that are captured, bred, and discarded.
However, this "perfect order" faces a great upheaval as a "terrorist" organization has arisen, one dedicated to use *any* means to take down Team Smougon and free the world from this tyrrany, and prove that Pokemon are "perfect" no matter who or what they are...led by one of those discarded Pokemon, though no one knows who or what Pokemon it is, as "he" always wears a mask.
...eeVee for Vendetta
How about a Mass Effect story?
I could believe it, given Smogons elitist views on competitive. Sounds like a good read tbh.

No.

Just an idea.
...you began with the pun and worked backwards, didn't you.
Interesting
Cute.

idea's work in strange ways

Would a Bakugan story be also out?
5648191
Yes it would.

He literally admitted to such in the first sentence.

Eh, thanks anyway.
Also, Eevee was banned for a while because Baton Pass is broken is all hell. He came back when they managed to gather enough brain cells to realize that they can just ban Baton Pass instead.

Must've missed that when reading.
Things like this just remind me of why I never got into competitive battling. Nothing is more annoying in a fandom-- aside from idiots who scream "Mary Sue" at any character who seems a bit more powerful than they'd like and refuse to acknowledge the blindingly obvious fact that nothing but their raw power comes anywhere close to being legitimately sue-ish-- than elitists who think the way they play is the ONLY way to play. Particularly in Pokémon, since those elitists are also usually the ones pissing themselves over Ash catching and using Pokémon like Pidove or... basically anything in the show.
Of course, I'm still looking to get into competitive. It's just tedious.
On a related note, Eevee is adorable and I would gladly consume a fanfic where an Eevee fights against Smogon. Especially if it's "bad" evolutions get to help. The world will always have room for more Eevee and Eeveelution stuff, particularly if it's wholesome, cute, or just plain awesome.
Good to hear from you again.
I like the idea.
I would read it
Could you please update you pwnyverse stories
Pfft, sounds hilarious.
{Admin: Wait, you can’t learn more than 4 moves at once! That’s illegal!
eeVee: Too bad, we’re working off Ashes of the Past logic, here.
Admin: Nooooooo!}

The problem with writing a feel good Bakugan fic is Wavern has to die for it to work, so it becomes difficult to, and all tats works tend to be feel good ones.

What is Ashes of the Past?

It’s essentially the Pokemon fanfiction to end all Pokemon fanfiction.
It’s a story where Ash gets sent back in time by Arceus because Cyrus succeeded at getting enough power to rewrite the universe, in order to stop that from happening. Unlike other Peggy Sue stories, however, the world is basically on Hard Mode, with a bunch of different characters either having more Pokemon, using crazier strategies than they did in the original, or the Pokemon are expies of characters from other media (there’s a Cubone with Shirou Emiya powers, Ash’s Squirtle bases his entire personality off of Kamina from Gurren Lagann, etc).
The specific reason I brought it up in this context was that Ashes of the Past takes a lot of the unexplained stuff from the anime and capitalizes on it, one of those things being “Why can Pokemon know more than 4 moves at a time in some episodes?” And so Pokemon can just… do that. All of the time, with no drawbacks. Why? Why not?
Also, it’s really good, so check it out if you’re curious.
