Is it just me..?

Or are there a ton of new stories with changelings in them?

Not that I'm complaining or anything. And I just released one revolving around changelings as well. But I started writing that ages ago, so it doesn't count...

I love changelings, anyway.

Speaking of changelings, I wanted to talk about the canon change thing. With Thorax.

Story-wise, I loved that episode.

But I wanted an episode where all the changelings just get those shimmery wings instead of the transformation, and they have to reintegrate into Equestria when everypony still hates them and thinks they're monsters.

Personally, I don't think FiM would have pulled it off properly. It's too big an issue to tackle in a show with this kind of style. That's what fanfiction is for. Still, they've surprised us a lot.

And the overall moral went against that Zecora episode. If it looks evil, it probably is. If it's cheerfull and colorful, then it's better.

At least Twilight had a realistic impression that it would take more than ten seconds to fully reform a race, and Thorax had his work cut out for him.

So basically, I don't hate the show for what it did, I just have a different headcanon. Like with Flurry Heart's design.

Yes, Changelings are great. Love the love bugs.

I don't mind the idea of magical reformation for the changeling, and for Thorax in particular, I just feel like it was far too rushed. I can understand not thinking the show could have handled the subject well, but honestly, if they had really given it some thought, we could have had multiple episodes across an entire season for that. And that... well, that would have been fabulous.
