    So. The news broke.

    https://www.equestriadaily.com/2019/02/season-9-confirmed-to-be-final-season.html

I guess we had a good run, right?

Personally, the saddest thing is we won't see Tempest Shadow again. I was kinda hoping she'd return for the next movie, unless they somehow squeeze her in for an episode.

    Sonata Fic: An Early Release!?

To celerate Valentine's Day (or the last five minutes of it, according to my GMT Timezone) I thought I'd release the first few chapters of the Sonata Fic that I was working on, just to show that I'm still kicking, and to give those interested something to read post-Valentine's.

More of it to come in the coming weeks!

    Cheers,
    Crowley

(Spoilers and Poll) To those who have seen the Movie... · 7:53pm Oct 8th, 2017

Hey, I thought it was good. I sometimes hear moaning that it was a lot like an normal MLP episode (complete with the Princesses being captured/defeated/etc), but honestly, I think that's what it was aiming for: the quintessential MLP episode, songs and all, but ramped up to 11.

When you look at it like that, the Movie does its job perfectly (aside from the obvious Celebrity Guest Sia, she kinda felt out of place, existing only for the song at the end). And you never know, if we get a sequel it might have a slightly more interesting story now that the "regular" aspect it out of the way.

The songs were okay, my personal favourite being Tempest's Open Up Your Eyes. It's been an earworm for a while, lemme tell ya.

And speaking of Tempest, I'll get right to the main point of this blog post: Would anyone like me to make a 2nd Person fic based around you and Tempest Shadow? I could attempt it shortly after this Luna one I'm making, and strike while the iron is still pretty hot, so to speak.

Here's the poll just to see if anyone would be into a Tempest Shadow fic. Anyone else wanna discuss the Movie? Leave a comment and I'll get back to ya.

UPDATE: Poll closed, final score: 25 Yays to 1 Neigh. WELP I GUESS I BETTER GET STARTED ON THAT TEMPEST FIC NOW.

I mean, the best episodes tend to be slice-of-life focused? And the movie definitely glossed over that whole part of the show. It was basically a season finale, but more of it. Some people like that, some people don't. I fall more into the latter category. :unsuresweetie:

True, but it'd be difficult to make a whole movie on a slice-of-life episode premise. I personally like the adventure episodes, but then again I understand the benefits of a SoL episode. The show thrives on a good mix of them.

I hear that.

Tempest was great. The storm king wasn't, but I get why, he would of been to intense for the kids otherwise.

Where the hell were the Guards, and Shining Armor?

But any chance to read a Crowley story would be awesome!!

It sucks that Tia, Lulu and Candybutt were thrown under the Worf Effect yet again.

Surely they could have come up with some other way to show what a dangerous, sexy badass Tempest is.

I Liked how there’s slavery and selling body parts on market

Even by kids standards, SK was just a 1-note villainous goofball with no more character than trying to be Discord 2.0

I'm told he's more fleshed out in the prequel comic, so I need to get around to that.

I know, right? Just the way Tempest said most of her lines were kinda hot. That and she seemed to have "bedroom eyes" all the time, even when they weren't.

Being voiced by Emily Blunt helps. :rainbowwild:

I hope to explain where the guards were in the Tempest fic, if everyone agrees that they want to see it.

O_o

4692040
Totally. Will this be a Human 2nd person or pony?

4692041
Pony, of course. There's only one human 2nd person in my current collection, and that's Applejack's fic.

4692090
Okay. I'm game.

And Starlight Glimmer, for that matter.

Shining Armor was probably off somewhere, desperately agonizing about his wife, but unable bring himself to leave Flurry unprotected.

Yeah but he wouldn't let the ponies be put in cages or chains without a fight.

The movie felt more like a crossover to be honest. Many of the creatures making their appearance in this movie didn't feel like they fit in with the legends you find in mythology the show seems to roll around with, and the heavy amount of machinery is very foreign to the show.

If you haven't guessed yet, I don't see it as a normal episode of MLP. They even pushed to the point where Twilight actually said, something along the lines of, "Don't need friends like you." That was a very classy move to use in movies that are based off of shows, doing something that shouldn't be crossed on the original show (examples: Simpsons had divorce for a tv show that surrounds family and Pokemon's first movie had a anti-fight massage for a show all about fighting)

'Open Up Your Eyes' was okay, but it felt very dull and slow to me. 'I'm the Friend You Need' was more up my alley with that rhythmical music (though the trailers for 'Ferdinand' and 'Coco' might've been the cause for my interest in that song).

As for the story, go for it. You said it yourself 'strike while the iron is still pretty hot.'
It worked for me after all.
