I really do like Tempest Shadow. So... · 7:43pm Oct 5th, 2017
...I did myself a favour and wrote a second story about her (which coincidentally also includes Twilight again).
The story plays during a scene from the movie, but is my own, alternative way it could have turned out. Once again, spoilers! Do not read if you haven’t watched the movie yet!

Do you really think that means friendship failed Twilight?

Personally? No.
But in this story Tempest uses Twilight’s weakened state to deliberately make her doubt friendship itself, it’s her single goal. Tempest does this to share her view on friendship, to share her pain, if you want to.
Twilight, in this story, gives in to Tempest’s influence because she can’t actively argue against anything she brings up. Her friends abandoned her when she most needed them, and Tempest made Twilight believe that her friends did the same thing.
In the end, Tempest did all of this for her own amusement, as a way of celebrating her victory over not just Twilight but friendship itself.
