    I'm at EFNW

Yep. Not cosplaying though. Will most likely be wearing a red MAGA hat (make Equestria great again). Have plenty of those, btw. And a couple copies of my book if anyone wants one.

So I did a thing with Super Trampoline (Also, books)

At horsecon, Super Trampoline and I made a blood pact (while intoxicated) to write a collab together. Not gonna lie, it's a steaming turd. But it was hella fun to write! You might get a kick out of it if you like crackfics. In fact, at least click on it and give it a vote. (Nobody's saying it has to be an upvote

    Am at BronyCon

Am here, finally. Had a hell of a drive, and even worse night. Hotel reservation got bumped, but everything is ok now.

Just letting you know I'm here, and if you didn't see my book in the bookstore thursday (or early friday) that's because it wasn't there. But it is now!

Just told my dad Ima brony... · 8:32pm Oct 13th, 2012

And he kinda didn't care. lol

He's unpredicatable with these things, it could've either been a 'wtf is wrong with you' or a 'oh cool you're a writer now.'

Nope.

He finally asked me what I'm always reading on my cell phone when I'm at work.

It went something like...

I never heard of my little pony.
Who would waste their time writing stuff?
You write now? No wonder you're always late for work.

That's it lol. Pretty neutral so I can't complain! I told my mom a while ago after Dash Eats Meat got featured. She was cool about it, I think she thinks it's cute... She even said she might buy me toys... lol

I should also mention, I'm 24, and I work with my dad. We're mechanics and we own a shop. I told him over lunch.

Well what do ya know, we might have the same mom and dad:pinkiehappy:

i wish i was lucky enough to have parents like yours.
mine still don't know, and if i can help it, it'll stay that way.

lel, the day I watched the first episode I went downstairs and told my family all about mlp over dinner, I don't really think they gave two shits, but at least they took it well.:yay::yay::yay:

Told my dad over the phone while he was in Alaska. At first he was cool with it, even though he made a few 'gay' jabs at me.

Then he actually confronted me about it. Thought I was turning gay. Said it wasn't normal, to be a brony. :ajbemused: God, I was mad.

But thankfully my mom provided comedic relief. She hadn't ever heard of the franchise at all because she was raised in the Philippines. In fact, she was concerned that it might've been too 'inappropriate', as with everything she's never heard of. :rainbowlaugh: I'm just glad she never noticed that mature button when she searched this place up.

420438 lol cool.
420444 Oh how bad could your 'rents be? I'd tell them sooner than later because it'd just get more embarrassing later... or what if they accidentally discover it by themselves? That'd be bad. Remember it's not embarassing if you make the other party feel awkward about it lol
420509 Lucky you! Even I hesitated to tell them. :trixieshiftleft:
420520 GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYY! lol jk. Kinda sucks, but looks like you handled it, so hey.

My mom thinks im gay, my sister thinks im gay, my sister's BOYFRIEND thinks im gay, and my dad just doesnt care XD

420520 Are you implying that FiM is not inappropriate?

A couple of my friends sort of recently forced me to come out of the pony closet... er, so to speak. It's a bit weird - you'd think being a woman would make the process easier... um, no.

One friend laughed her head off, the other seemed fine with it. We finished our coffees. I'M IMMATURE - LIFE GOES ON.

SIGH.

I was open about it from the start... Watched the first season for the first time while spending a week at a friend's house - to this day he dislikes ponies, and I am okay with this. :derpytongue2:

One time at the breakfast table, my father demanded to know what I was watching on my IPad. It being FiM, the only thing he responded with was "Ah, some kind of anime thing again.":twilightsheepish:
Well, good that their reactions were positive!:pinkiehappy:

Shit dude, I'll be 30 on Nov 9th this year, and I work with my father because this town doesn't have any jobs. I recently told him as well as my mother about me being a brony. He thought it was weird at first but he is happy that I'm not wasting my time in the fandom by just collecting the toys. I have written over 400k words for one of my stories. He said I should stop writing the fanfiction and start writing on my book. I am actually writing on my book though along with two stories on this site. Its crazy.

I used my kids (13 and 4) as a cover for MLP until one day I realized, "Darn it! I'm a 42 year old man, I've paid my dues, I've done my time. If I want to watch a funny, well made show about colourful ponies, then I can." So you think I'm gay because I watch MLP? Sorry, can't hear you over the sound of my two kids and wife.

Since my parents live in a granny suit connected to my house, they found out fast. However, they know I watch cartoons, so it was just an other show I was watching. My wife thinks it's cool. She's not as much a fan as me, but she enjoys the show. Heck, it's one of the few (only?) shows I can enjoy with both my kids and my wife.

Yeah, it's not exactly a common conversation you have with your friends or family, but it's gonna happen sooner or later. My friends found out when it came up when we were at an anime con, and it turns out a couple of them are bronies, too! 'Course, didn't go as swimmingly with the folks, but they just have to deal with it, I guess. :trixieshiftright:

420580
Not the show of course. But she did come to this site, and I was just glad she didn't hit the 'view mature' button. Or, god forbid, find any rule 34 anywhere.

420568
That's the opposite reaction anyone would expect. Except maybe your sister and her boyfriend, that can be expected.

420544
I actually don't think he cares anymore. Heck, when he found out about my fanfics, he suggested that I show them to my English teacher to help raise my grade. And it did!

my dad was like "At least they are good role models." Yeah he kinda thinks it is a little funny that I am a brony but he is really accepting of a lot of things, so he is cool with it.

I went to my dad "I am a brony."

"A what?"

"Bro-Pony"

"Haha what's that?"

"Means I am a fan of My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic."

"Haha. Really?"

"Yup."

"Cool. What do you want for dinner?"

heheh, mine didnt care. He told me "AT least its better than fuckin spongebob" :derpytongue2: My mother bought me a toy too heheh. well at least no one freaked out right? :yay:

I've been dropping hints for about 2 weeks now. REALLY OBVIOUS ONES TOO! I posted him a Pinkie Pie with a note "This is a HINT, signed Kadzie O'Nayl." Dad still didn't get it. :facehoof: He needs to put two and two and two together...

420878 On the same day that the season 2 finale came out, Queen Chrysalis rule 34 was at the top of a Google image search for her name. Just her name, not specifying rule 34 :moustache:

420568 At least your dad's cool with it lol
420611 Pretty much. At least nobody was mortified.
420624 One day he'll come to our side... one day...
420646 Anime lol... have they found out that it's mlp?
420649 Nothin wrong with a family business. And yea, it's cool how mlp spurs creativity!
420762 Dude. Awesome quote - "So you think I'm gay because I watch MLP? Sorry, can't hear you over the sound of my two kids and wife."
420848 Yea, pretty much. What are they gonna do? Disown you? :duck:
420878 That's cool, they should really teach creative writing in school instead of forcing you to write essay upon essay of the stupidest crap. School has a way of making you hate doing stuff like reading and writing. How ironic.
420904 Cool, my dad's not really that accepting. But what's he gonna do? He can't kick me outta the house because I work for him, and he can't fire me because I'm one of the few good mechanics in the neighborhood, the only one who'll work for peanuts.
:trollestia:
420928 So he was like. Cool story bro. er... son. lol
421102 No freakouts are good. FUCKIN SPONGEBOB (lol jk) I still remember when I was like 12 (Spongebob is that old? YES) when spongebob was being announced for airing, and I told my mom and she fuckin CRACKED UP at the name 'Spongebob Squarepants.'
421118 Eh, they don't know about the fandom. It's pretty hard for an ordinary person to compute that anyone over the age of 12 could possibly watch mlp. When I came out to my mom, it took her a while to compute that the show with ponies that I'm a fan of = mlp.
421186 Yea dude, I saw that. Like seriously, there were finished works of art (some R34) of Chrysalis on the same damn day.

421247 I approved, obviously :moustache:

421247

Some days, that's quite literally true. :rainbowlaugh:

I haven't told my parents. Probably would end badly. My friends know I love the show, and they are fairly acceptent. I'm even kinda-sorta in the process of... "converting" them. They wont last long. They WILL be bronies. :pinkiecrazy:

421281 MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! :pinkiecrazy:

421247
They never really cared afterward....I think they forgot.:twilightsheepish:

As soon as I started watching the show with my brother, I told my Dad, and surprisingly he was
cool with it. :pinkiehappy: Then I told my Mom about it. She actually supported me watching it, and even made some pony merch for me. I think I got lucky. :twilightsheepish:

421247 heheh i used to watch it sometimes before high school, my parents would always make me change channels :derpytongue2:

421247 yeah my dad won't really say anything about it mainly because to him the show is educational and it keeps me out of his hair for a few hours.

421645
That..is very impolite.:ajbemused:
Why would they do that?:raritydespair:

421612 Cool. :pinkiehappy:
421645 Wow, that bad? lol
421785 Educational?

A cartoon about flying, magical ponies who defeat bad guys with a rainbow laser is educational?

imageshack.us/a/img94/9880/sweetieseemslegit.png

422211 I mean the morals taught in the show

422194>>422211 They be trollin', but there's some things I couldn't control. I also never watched much TV, pretty much found the internet. :yay:

He only reacted that way because you guys wear the same shorts.

All my respect! I won't ramble on about my story, but let's just say my mother wasn't too thrilled about it. Oh well, I'm still open about it with everyone I meet. Have been since I became a Brony. Point is, you gain +100 respect from me, which I didn't even think was possible because of how much of it you already have. :trollestia: Anyhooves, my heart goes out to you brother in pony! :pinkiehappy:
