Yes, at long last, I have finally finished and posted a new story: Iron Rider Rangelkai! Y'know, the one I've been threatening you with for months? :B
If you're following me, hopefully it's because you like my stories. So I'm asking, please, don't let the tags scare you off. D: The Crossover tag marks this as a pastiche; it's supposed to be accessible. The Romance tag is because this is my very first (surprisingly!) RariJack -- and Rarijack is all about tragedy. So unless you're allergic to the idea of two of the mane cast having any kind of romantic feelings for each other, ever, don't let it dissuade you. They ain't together. :B
This is just meant to be a rip-snorter of an action flick, interspersed with scenes of a pony pining for another because she can't get over "It's over." And hopefully, that will be enough to convince you to try it. I've put a lot of hard work into this story, and I think it came out the way I wanted it to. :)

So, first off, I say this is a toku pastich, but if you know anything about it, you'll recognize it's like 90% Kamen Rider. <.< Sorry! That's what I'm into. She's got Kuuga's forms, specifically: red Ground for balanced strength (I think I stole the name from Agito?), blue Timberwolf for speed, green Cockatrice for accuracy, purple Manticore for defense. And flight. >.> And of course she can turn into Ultraman so she can fight Godzilla. Because that's tokusatsu, innit?
I am, of course, missing one major subgenre: sentai. I'll be honest, I'm not into sentai. I always thought Power Rangers was dumb, and after getting into Kamen Rider -- which is also dumb, I should add -- I just have no interest in trying to figure it out. With that said, if this story were to get a sequel -- and I am totally not planning to write one, even though I have made notes -- we would find out that Crystal Rider Castellion is the first member of the sentai force that Rangelkai will have to fight. So there's that.
What else can I tell you? This story began as a dream, consisting of two scenes: Applejack in an Iron Man-like (technically War Machine-like) symbiotic suit, fighting crime and stuff as The Iron Saviour, a name I kept around in the story. The second scene was the "fimberts" scene from the flashbacks, and about three lines of dialogue from it are taken directly from the dream.
The first scene, though, sat around unused in my work folder until I got into Kamen Rider. I was like, "I should write a crossover," and then I thought of that old Iron Saviour idea, and wouldn't it be way cooler, not to mention easier to justify, if she were a Kamen Rider and not Iron Man? Iron Rider Rangelkai was born. Her name, by the way, is a corruption of "ranger" (it should be pronounced with a 'j' sound) and the 'kai' part of 'yippee-kai-yay', I am not even joking. A lot of the other words used in the story -- comose, vibrissa, sylosis, and even Shinion, even though that is also a corruption -- are hair-related. Because the Shinion live under ponies' manes. <.< Neat, right?
All the Japanese was wrought with limited personal knowledge, Google Translate, and a Japanese-to-English online dictionary. (It's great, check it out.) I am significantly more well-versed with German, to the point I was able to coin my own word when the dictionary I was using for that failed me! Point being, if any of it is bad, sue me, there's supposed to be an underlying current of cheesiness to this story, for all that the events are taken deadly seriously and I tried to lampshade/explain a lot of Kamen Rider tropes.
I think that's it. I hope you guys enjoyed reading Iron Rider Rangelkai. And if you did and you want more Kamen Rider in your ponies? Stay tuned for Kamen Rider Taco, which will be considerably sillier. :D Because Kamen Rider is a silly show.

That was kind of amazing, wasn't it? I had next to no idea what they were talking about, but the sheer passion they exuded was just... thrilling! That's why I enjoy hanging out with geeks
PP, sorry I wasn't much help with the pre-reading. It's not because I wasn't interested in your story, I've just been having trouble doing anything lately (Hell, I haven't even watched the past 6 episodes of Pony). I will make it a point to read the final product soon, though. Maybe this weekend
